Google Pixel 5 launched

Google has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Pixel 5.

The smartphone is the most capable handsets Google has ever released in terms of connectivity and features, and it sports a modern design with thin bezels and an edge-to-edge display.

What is the reason for Google not selling the Pixel in South Africa?

I think it might do quite well in the SA market, especially with the limited premium android flagships available in SA.

Excessive use of the word "sports" in the article.

Expected top end 865 chipset from top end phone.

$700 for a 765G chipset is pretty steep. You might want to keep that in mind if you're gonna keep it for 2+ years, as by then it's speed will definitely show.

I'm not a heavy gamer, so I'd still get this over the other phones in the same price points just for the camera and software experience.

Looked like a pretty decent offering but then I read that the fingerprint reader is at the back and the aluminium body is covered in resin which is going to feel like plastic.

And won't age well. That rubber coating will scuff really easily and eventually go sticky.

So you don't use a phone cover?

They only in a handful of countries worldwide (9 if I recall). They just not big hardware players and SA it's pretty low on the list when it comes destinations to market to.
