I dont think it being unavailable much of a loss as it is very seldom correct with predictions of times of loadshedding

My experience has been the complete opposite. Love the app, and very accurate especially letting us lucky Cape Town people that we're on stage 1.

Eskom should be the ones offering a free API. It is the least they could do to help businesses deal with their mess.

Yeah, unfortunately some areas the time slots keep on shifting and moving, it is very seldom correct then.

Eskom should be supplying reliable power, but they can't get that right. An API is well beyond their capabilities. Would be years of boardroom meetings, consultants fees and R200k brooms.
Also, the local municipalities schedule under Eskom.

They can't because they are not responsible for figuring out load shedding schedules in the various municipalities. They simply tell municipalities that they need to cut X amount of MW.

Authorities should have broken up Google LOOOOONG time ago and handed some of its business functions to newcomers and competitors. One company should not have the type of powers a company like Google has, to the extent where it can manipulate elections and silence people they want to.
