i wonder how big its going to grow.. i mean wil it have as much impact here as it does overseas? would be awesome to see how thay pan out,,,

So, with google receiving something stupid like 7000 CVs a day, how exactly does one make the shortlist? Get headhunted? Or know someone who works there and can recommend you?
Just wondering..

Is that Google SA or does one apply though one office worldwide?

7000 Cv's per day seems a little high for SA only applicants? Unless the recession is worse than i originally thought :/

speaking of google mapping, what do u call the mapping they do when a Google car drives around the streets with a camera on top of it, recording the drive by view of the neighbourhood it is in?

saw one the other day in Rondebosch East (Cape Town) of all places!

any idea of a ballpark figure?

i know at least 4 people who left Google SA in the past year, so it can't be that great to work for...

I remember when they where looking for the 1st country manager, some executive recruitment agency phoned me, and the salary of the country manager was disappointing - one would have thought in excess of 1m with perks, but nowhere near this.

the two positions will go for market related salaries - 500-700K. Also enjoy the Google-interviews, blows your socks off (not sure if they apply the same interviews as the technical ones to those roles - but rather harsh).
