Google+ takes aim at Facebook

This would eat into my gaming time. So it's a HUGE no to this.

:D

Don't want it.

Don't need it.

Will this like all Google's recent "innovations" (irritations) have no OFF button?

all I want from google is search.

I don't want search history.
I don't want instant search.
I don't want predictive text.
I don't want previews.
I don't want "Fade effects".
I don't want "everything" toolbars.
I don't want moderated results.
I don't want personalized results.
I don't want geographically relevant results.
I don't want cookies that never expire
I don't want to have to disable Java whenever I visit google
I don't want social media telling me who "might" be a friend based on snooping my email.
I don't want people tagging me or my children in photos.

I want search.
I want a simple box to enter my search terms and a big button labeled "Search"

I want it to return a list (preferably 50) results that I could further filter by the simple expediance of adding or subtracting terms from my search query.

Google was able to do this 10 years ago, why can't they bloody well do it today.

Google has mastered the basic search already so its understandable that they will add optional extras for those who want it like me and many many others. All those other features are optional and doesn't affect you in any way, so I don't know why you would care that google is providing a more robust service, other than you just don't like Google and want to whine about everything.

And to answer your question "Will this like all Google's recent "innovations" (irritations) have no OFF button?", Yes they do have an off button, you. Just don't choose to use them and they wont "hinder" you, e.g. don't sign up for Google Plus and the other features are all on the side, so (this may come as a big surprise) just don't use it.... Honestly don't know what you are complaining about.

Has this launched as yet? can someone please send me a link as to where i can sign up?

Exactly this.

The limited invite system is actualy pure genius. By creating the image of shortage, it creates instant demand.

Just looking all over the net people asking for invites as if its a new drug.

for those using it what features do you think they will/should add?
Integration with youtube, some form of calendar: event hosting, have public groups like on facebook.

Google already has most of these features, it just needs to tie them all together.

For those interested, Google will add Games support for Google+ in future, since they have a great amount of money invested in Zynga,

Also, the big debate is on about displayed ads and I believe Google is going to kick Facebook a new one with this as well, watch this space.
