Got my Samsung 226BW this morning and I must say I now understand all the hype about it, it's really fantastic.

Got one of the new ones that don't say what type of panel it is but I don't really care right now, have tried a video with plenty of contrast and no problems whatsoever.

Now all i need is a PS3, Xbox360 and an 8800GTX and my setup should be fine for a couple of months :p

As a side note i thought i'd mention the great service i received from nivo, never heard of them before but must say they were on the ball!!

Aah I wish I could have a 22" LCD instead of my old 17" CRT. But then again I'm a DDR400 939 CRT kind of guy. Stuck in the past...

Where'd you get it from and at what price? I'm waiting for Sahara to get the new ones in.

Hey ... don't hate on the DDR400 939 ... it was a good past ... and I'm still in it :P ... And I'm also stuck on 17" CRT ... waiting for my upgrade :P

The new ones look really nice ... saw one at rage ... but they gonna cost a bit more ... but I prefer the glossy screen

From Nivo (http://www.nivo.co.za/#search/226BW), R2 872.57 incl VAT and Shipping.

Nivo's price is good -- how long did it take until delivery?

Ordered yesterday morning, was waiting for me at work when I got in this morning :)

Oh and its not a new model of the 226BW its just the new range that doesn't show whether its a A, C or S panel...

Thats a good price ... do you know which shipping company they use ... and where are you ... my site would cost about the same for shipping, but 48 hours delivery.

They use Berco, I'm in Jo'burg about 20Km's from them, but the site says that it's overnight to any major center, so would have been next day for most people...

Joins the group of DDR400/939/17"-CRT oldies. One day, when interest-rates stay stable for a whole year, and broadband competition drives pricing down, I'll upgrade to a DX10 card and a 19" widescreen LCD
:D

Impressive. I *do not* enjoy waiting for something once I've paid for it. Very impatient, me. :D

Me neither, even thought about fighting through N3 traffic so I could get it immediately but for once decided to calm down and wait...

I saw the new 24" iMac at the Waterfront this weekend.
That screen is just absolutely fantastically wonderfully lustful.</drool>
Can you run Vista on it?

On the iMac?

Yeah (at least for now you can) - but why would you want to?

Speculation is that the reason the iMac has the glossy screen is so Mac Pro sales wouldn't be cannibalised. :o

Oh ok ... I use Berco as well, Delivery for a 22" within joburg would cost them about R70. But to other areas cities will cost about R130 for 24 - 48 hours

It says only a 1 year warranty on nivo.co.za for the samsung, but incredible says 3 years. Wondering if it's worth the price. I live in pmb, so it will cost at least R100 to courier it down here (R400 if I do overnight). If there is an issue, I have to courier it back and forth.

Might be a R600 difference, but an extra 2 years on the warranty and no need to courier anything if it goes wrong.

Damn, I just don't know lol. Someone help me make my mind up :)

Just by the way ... if Nivo gets them from the local distributors they have a 3 year warranty, I know this because my website www.digitaladdiction.co.za offers a 3 year warranty on them. Not sure where you are ... but to courier to Durban will cost roughly R120 for overnight.
