Got sent two items when I only ordered one

Send it back. Or if you want it, contact them and arrange something. Happened to me and got the second item at a little under cost price.

It was a Dell PowerEdge T20 Server that I ordered from Takealot and I did phone them to alert them of their mistake. They are going to come fetch it btw...

Thank you for acting with integrity. It is a scarce thing in today's world.

What does the consumer act say? Am I allowed to keep the second item or does the company have the right to demand it back? Both items are identical and both delivery notes have my address and name on it. I was only charged for the one item.

Karma says, send one back.

What a stupid question to ask tbh. You didn't pay for it so let them know they delivered 2. Let them choose to either give it to you or collect.

I must say, you think of keeping it, how awesome it would be, but then the thought of giving it back, and knowing you did the right thing....priceless!

Good on you.

I actually got delivered 3, yes 3 copies of BF3 when it launched. I had DHL come and collect the one and the other I denied to sign for it as I already received a copy.

Edit: Also takealot.

Remember that there's no such thing as free. If you received something without working for it, someone else worked for something and didn't get it.

the closest i got to getting something free in online shopping

when i order some of my pc parts they send me some nice ,thermal past that i didn't order :O

razer1980, I'm sure you already know what the best course of action is: Call or email the management and let them know what happened. It's up to them to decide and initiate the next step. If they want it back you should not be put to any avoidable trouble or further expense. This means they should collect it rather than asking you to take it to the post office or a courier.

There is not a person on earth who doesn't make mistakes, so not a single one of us can mount a high moral horse and claim title to the fruits of another's innocent mistake.

It matters not a jot whether the supplier is small or large, rich or poor, terrestrial or alien.

The moral decision is yours to make. Treat others as you would have them treat you. As you weigh, so will you be weighed. This is a test of your character, not theirs.

Follow your informed conscience, do the right thing, and let them know.

Did you really have to write such a massive wall of text for what boils down to "return it because it's the right thing to do"?

Jirre Arthur. Sometimes I can only wonder.
