Further to my thread a couple of weeks ago, "the good the bad....." about should i buy a Mac or not, i took the plunge and went out and bought a 20' imac.
So far so good, am really enjoying it but I'm getting a bit lost in all the applications and add-ons that you can download.
so....... which apps etc do you recommend, ones that you think maybe every mac owner should download?
I appreciate that a lot depends on what you want to do, but i'm thinking general everyday stuff.

Thanks in advance
Daz

You need to get...

Flip4Mac and DivX for those pesky win videos,
Handbrake to rip your DVD's
OpenOffice or NeoOffice or iWork to deal with your buddies using Office (don't waste your money on Office for Mac)
Skype
GoogleEarth
Delicious Library to keep track of your stuff
RapidWeaver or Sandvox for simple websites
Wallet or 1Password to store your valuable info
Vienna, NewsFire, Times or NetNewsNire for RSS

IIRC there have been some threads about good mac software... do a search of this forum.

Climb on to www.versiontracker.com, It's pretty useful in finding all the above mentioned apps.

Don't forget VLC media player and Flip4Mac so you can play all those Windows Video Files (WMV) and all dem codec driven videos like DivX and XviD.
