Gout...

Have your vitamin D levels checked and supplement according. I have never had Gout but have had other symptoms related to low vitamin d levels and it is a quick cheap fix. You can Google the relationship.

Some questions from my side;

1. Do any other sufferers here find they react worse to things LOWER on the bad list than higher up? For example certain seafoods are high on the list, yet I don't get gout from it. But if i have tomato-based sauces for example it gets me big time.

2. Have any of you got something that starts off as gout, but then becomes full-blown tendonitis in one or more of the foot tendons and you cant walk for days even though the gout is gone?

My advice is to go and get a bottle of this stuff...

BROOKES-Lemon-Juice-1-x-2L_1892603_fb1ab2b7246141e16d25706c8821e73c_t.jpg

And to drink it with everything, water, coke, tea, etc.
Citric Adic breaks down Uric Acid and that helps for both Kidney Stones and Gout.
I was getting two to three kidney stones a year.
but since I start doing this... Haven't had one in more than a year now.

Old gout sufferer...

Now on Puricos daily. Also always have a box of dichoflam nearby as well as a "gout kit" or two for very bad days.

What sets it off? Could be one of many things but I no longer care!

With the oom on this one.... twenty year victim, for the first ten years, Injections, pain, wheelchairs, agony, so bad was the pain that I would have taken a chainsaw to both my legs in one go....

The English HO, had enough, off to a specialist at Constantiaberg...... three months sabbatical on all meat and booze.... then medication..... last ten years a breeze......

I just avoid marmite and dark brown mushrooms...

i take 300mg Puricos every day for the rest of my life...\

/My name Is Moose, I take Puricos....

If I have a flare,

1mg Colchicine.
300mg Cerebrex....

Within the hour..... it's all gone...

Seriously? Eina! How did you get rid of them? Had a colleague who suffered from them - he would literally cry from the pain.

I had to go to hospital and get on the serious pain killers, then they work out in a day or two.
Mine have always come out by themselves, but I have a friend who has to have them pulverised.

This is the worst I've had, though. Been 2 weeks already. Oh, well... I'll live in pain then. I'll sooner get crutches than give up my vices. :p

Strange, last week Friday, the 16th I woke up with gout. Normally I would take a colchicene, cataflam and a gout kit all at once and in a couple of hours it would all be over. But, for some reason, on Friday, the medication relieved the pain, but the gout has not gone away. I am going for my second week now.

I have been drinking 4 packets of colchicene and 1 1/2 packets of cataflam, as well as 5 gout kits the past week. Still have it and it won't go away. I am way too scared to go to a doctor for now... (by the way, I am off the colchicene now, since it started making my stomach run)

I am not sure what triggers mine, but I think there are many things, such as tomatoes and alcohol. I did not have any of them when I got the latest gout attack.

What is the difference between gout and kidney stones? Does gout create the stones?

Eina! For those that don't know what "work out" means - it means going through your kidneys (I think?), causing massive pain - and then being passed through your dick via pissing.

Have been told it's the equivalent to the pain of child birth - without having a bouncy boy/girl at the end. Just a tiny little sphere that always makes the sufferers wonder how such a little thing caused so much pain.

Best way to get vitamin D is just get a bit of sun?

Who diagnosed your gout and why was treatment not prescribed then?
Anyway gout is diagnosed mostly by lab tests unless it's at advanced stages where you can see the signs with a naked eye.
Just get yourself tested

My quack. Blood tests.

I had gout frequently a few years ago. I tried not eating things with high purine levels, no beer and various home remedies. It sort of worked but I would still get random attacks.

I think what finally worked for me was being more physically active and Osteoeze gout formula. I've thrown away the food list and eat/drink whatever I like.

Both Kidney stones and gout are products of a underlying cause ,not each other. Rather saying the build up of uric acid causes kidney stones and gout, would be more accurate. But stones can form from many things.

I see it is about R50 cheaper on Takealot than Dischem.

Thanks

Thanks, with delivery it's about the same price. I'll consider that if I'm also buying other stuff and then don't have to pay the delivery fee.
