Can anyone give a valid reason why the government is so enamoured with extinct adobe products like flash? Sars and home affairs jump out like jack flash (pun!).

If I was in charge, whoever developed systems for the government and municipalities would be in danger of losing their jobs.

I really would appreciate comments from any .gov.za devs out there.

It's likely the case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

It's only not broken though if you live in 1997.

It's got very little to do with the actual tech, actionscript is sexy as hell if you like to C your languages Sharp after having a cuppa Java, just be careful not to Lisp when you speak it.

But seriously, the people who could rebuild a disease as complex as SARS, would A) Charge almost exactly 1 Earth and B) Would you trust someone not to build in a stairway to heaven?

For all the gnashing of teeth it causes, The Doctor in the previous post has made the correct diagnosis.

Because InterFile does that work for government, and InterFile has a fetish for Adobe products

Heh, the US company I worked for built a desktop application for a client in flash. :D

Can you believe, I have finally got my missus's passport application registered.

Do not try and navigate through the application after a couple of dops

But for SARS its NATURAL in the backend.
