GPU Upgrade advice

Probably a good time to sell them now. If the RX 480 is as promising as the leaks suggest then the 970s are going to lose value quickly.

Problem is RX 480 might be to "good" ,increasing the demand for it and increasing the price.

RX 480 might offer same mining performance as R9 390 for 150watt ,which means the miners are going to jump on this card!

Wootware has the Galax GeForce GTX 1070 EXOC 8GB @ R8,199.00 listed (ETA: 11 July 2016)

Good price, and even more interesting keeping an eye on the used GPU sales. People really do not want to lose their money on their 980, 980Ti and Titan purchases. Good prices on used 970’s… though that is until we see at which price point the RX 480 enters the SA market.

Not bad, could be better but I'm still gaming at 1080p in which case that GPU is way overkill.
If you're a 1440p gamer it would suite you really well, 4K not so much.

I'd say around R4K looking at other $200 GPUs selling here. Based on prelim specs I would say it's gonna be a killer 1080p GPU touching on 1440p for less demanding titles.

I’m hoping to see ~R3 500 Powercolor cards, obviously stocked by Wootware. They usually have good introductory prices…

At the end I’m waiting until Black Friday in the US/Canada, there will also be more options by then.

Yeah that would make me happy as well.

Not sure whether to go 4GB or 8GB version, at 1080p is 8GB really required.

Agreed a 4gb card priced around 3500 would be the sweet spot

Although i need to earn more money so i can see what all this hype is gaming at 1440P with 120hz refresh rate monitors ;)

Seems to overkill for me
