Great Google Apps

Some more Google Apps

Google Talk - an instant messaging client. Also works on my blackberry so that makes it totally mobile.

Google Voice - link all your phone numbers to one number so people can contact you at home, at the office and on the road simply by calling one number. It also provides free calling and sms in the US and cheap international calling. I think it's only available in the US currently although there is a way around that.

Google Chrome - a real fast web browser.

Google Wave - a combination of email and instant messaging. Be prepared to wait a while for this killer app.

Not sure if these would be termed apps but there is YouTube, Picasa, Blogger, Knol and Books. I would think they are more services available from Google.

Reader is really awesome - has really changed the way I get my information. Single location for blogs, news feeds and twitter updates. And since it is linked to your google account it can be used from multiple PCs without being shown articles you have read on a different machine.

mmmm slightly misleading title, thought it was about the actual google apps service ie google.com/apps and the new apps market place and not standard google services

Try using some of the Chrome plugins, like flashblocker, addblocker, speed dial and many, many others..

Also in Calendar you can get reminders sent via SMS to you for FREE !! :D

Are you sure its free??

The only reason I haven't enabled it is because I would guess there would be some cost involved for us Saffers.

Nope, completely free! And very reliable. :)

I use them as part of Calendar to remind of important dates, payments, etc. Works great!

And an addition to reader that might also not be known to some is Google Reader Play . http://www.google.com/reader/play . That's like a visual slideshow effect to read content.

Google Calendar SMS notifications are definitely free.

Currently use Gmail, Reader (with play), Tasks, Docs, occasionaly News and then uses the Google Mobile App and Google Maps 4 (both with voice search) on my Nokia. Also sync my contacts and calendar between my phone and google using GoogaSync and the Sync app. I see Google now supports syncing of calendar, contatcts and gmail via active sync on Symbian devices, pity I use that for work email though. The cool thing is that all the google services can be accessed on the mobile browser (though with limited functionality)

i just recently started using their bookmark service. ever format your pc and then lost all you bookmarks. well google bookmarks are the best to recover from that. :)

sounds like an advert. LOL.

also use calendar, reader, gmail want to try out the alerts one.

Can someone post a link for the Calender app that includes free sms updates for me to look at later when SEACOM is working again, thanks
