Heh - we used to have our Counter-Strike lunch-times, but sadly as the work load picked up, the lunch times disappeared. :( That was almost 2,5 years ago!

aaaw :p

...we play all sorts; rts, fps, rpg- currently on css and joint ops :)

I'll see you that chaos with the following:
Maintaining 5 seperate versions of a specific database, varying fields based upon different needs at the times, with a central multi-user system that accesses these and is built to be compatible with these differing databases, including processing invoices using different numbering styles and date formats into a coherent mess and updating each database with new transactions or edits

Be a pal and tell us what system this was so we know never to use it. Not to doubt your skills, but that seems destined for a good old-fashioned pig **** sometime soon.

I love coding, it's the best job ever... even though there are serious deadlines, once I start coding away everything else dissapears, 8 hours a day goes by like it was 1! Nothing for me on the coding side of things get annoying...

What gets to me though, is when a client calls and says that the software is broken when its they themselves that are broken... id10t errors.

Oh... and when you have to design a program without the client providing specifications... but thats not so bad cause you can then charge more as you have to do it for them teeheehee... :p

Well I'm glad all my apps are internal and I do not have to work much with clients or other users. That is the real perk of my job.

I work for internal too... but we have 6+ companies to help. We have branches in each province, 1000s of users.

It's a pain in the a$$

I feel unwanted here for just being a junior... :)
Well, at least I'm good at what I do. And I rather learn from someone than boast my opinion.

Guys, thanks for sharing. Suddenly I feel much better about my problems at work.
Coding is probably the best job in the world, with the least recognition.
I salute you all!
