Greencom please read further up the thread. I have sent you numerous interested forms and registered for your services on your site. Why must I then follow up with a phone call to you?! Show a bit of professionalism and phone your potential customers back.

Is there any reason why your connection cost may vary? Your website shows connection cost from R1 140, but I just received an invoice for R1 710?

Go to Firestream. No Connection fee if fibre is already in. Otherwise R570 only for fibre. No fee for ONT and the rest of the crap Greencom charges for....Service is also great with good follow up.
 
That is what I would like to do. But apparently Greencom "owns" the line for the first 3 months. So will patently wait for another 3 months.

I am patiently waiting for Firestream to be approved for my estate. Still waiting for Greencom to call back.
 
Does anybodey know if the firestream promotion is still valid? I have contacted them + waiting reply. Crazie prices:10mb@579,25MB@799,50mb@999,100mb@1299. I hope its not just a dream.
 
This is a bit off topic. Greencom have just installed in my complex, they have impressed us and we want to take the step but are a bit cautious and I probably am asking a dumb question. There are 4 of us here who play World of Warcraft, we Skype with people overseas and watch Netfliks. We are quite happy with Afrihost but they don't provide FO at a good price yet. My questions are will we have good WoW (and other games ofc) experience or will we regret the leap? Will there be lag. Will there be good 24/7 access. Will we ever be throttled. We are looking at uncapped / unshaped. Any experience out there? >-< :)

Go via Firestream. They don't enforce a 3 month contract, so in the event that you are not happy you can just cancel your line.

Hi Saffy

I've had fibre from Greencom for about 2 weeks and I'm finding the quality to be really poor. I've been playing Diablo 3 mostly and have constant lag spikes and even a disconnect or two. I'm actually going to log a call with them this week about it. I assume there are a few teething issues, but my 4mb ADSL was more stable than the 10mb I have from Greencom.

Perhaps there are too many FTTH providers in a few select areas!

I am literally a 200 (or less) meters away from your coverage zone in Bedfordview (I am literally opposite the Highway from Skeen Boulevard).

Is there any way possible to have fibre to my home?
 
Got some pretty horrible packet loss tonight. Laptop plugged directly into the CPE, packet loss starts at the first hop (10.0.0.1).
Anyone else?
