Greencom

Got some pretty horrible packet loss tonight. Laptop plugged directly into the CPE, packet loss starts at the first hop (10.0.0.1).
Anyone else?

Definitely a congestion problem. 23:46 and no loss:

It boggles my mind why anyone would choose Greencom as their service provider. They provide no service, have no support desk and have little to no regard for post-sales service. I have been with Firestream since October and they are unbelievably slick, jump whenever I need them and proactively contact me if they identify anything out of the ordinary. Their network performance is fantastic and has given me no cause for concern as it easily meets my requirements in terms of gaming and streaming.

I also did a cost comparison between Greencom and FireStream this morning. Services appear identical (uncapped + unshaped) so it seems to be a like-for-like comparison.

Greencom Firestream
10Mbps R684 R579
25Mbps R997,50 R799
50Mbps R1350 R999
100Mbps R2000 R1299

So massively cheaper are Firestream. Personally I believe you would be off your rocker to be with anyone other than them. 2 cents worth.
Have a cracker of a day folks.

I'm patiently waiting for Firestream to become an ISP in my estate. I don't have anything good to say about Greencom.

Probably the same problem I'm reporting. Run WinMTR or PingPlotter for a bit to see if you are dropping packets.

Here's the network over the last 20ish hours:

Got an email from greencom saying they will check with metro fibre as to the issue. At the moment my netflix is at 240p. Wife just turns it off - mass of individual pixels was giving her motion sickness

Must say, i am with Firestream and can't complain. Greencom took a month to respond to my request... I already had my fibre from firestream by then.

The service at Firestream is good and i average about 30meg on my 25meg line :-)

Shhh, dont tell everyone.....just now firestream will be ovverloaded! :D

Please note that we are aware of the technical issues being experienced and have escalated this to Metrofibre Networx as the problem exists on the core network . We are advised that they are busy working on the issue and expect to have resolution by today.

Not to mention the connection dropping every 15 minutes ... I'm trying to be patient but when its a premium service and I can't even watch Twitch or Netflix in SD what is even the point?

It's up **** creek again today. I think that's my cue to move on. Really not in the mood to call Greencom to get them to do their jobs.

Restart your CPE.
Looks like a change was made at 8:12. The second hop no longer replies to ICMP and I am yet to drop a single packet!
