Grocery Specials Thread

The spar here by us is terrible. 2 weeks ago they sold all gold tomato sauce for R17. Then it went on "special" for R25. Now it's back to R17. Why do they do this?

Being on promotion and being on special seems to be two different things.

Might pop past Makro and pick up one of those R100 Ryobi glue guns.

Then again the queue will most likely be out the door so might as well buy some more unnecessary stuff:p

Out of stock in CT

All Cape stores seem to have stock again according to the website.

they site sucks for stock

so when they had the coffee cheap site said something like 450+

get to the store and i find 3

apparently the stock is per individual item and not per box

also when there is a low price on item the staff pack stock away until its reduced

this is what was told by a makro manager

All that you must do is ask for a rain check

I can't help but to post this so do not shout at me. SA bread is so manufactured to size and has no taste.
If you ever come to Portugal, you will see that in supermarkets the largest sections will be the bread section.
The breads here are made by God's angels and are soooo good. No bricks or sliced as in factory stuff but large elephant turd shapes with a nice crust and a moist warm inside. Soo good and they cost half of the SA factory breads.
No slicing needed as you just tear a chunk off and smear it with butter or olive oil.

:crylaugh:

I found Mozambique bread delicious - perhaps similar recipe/techniques introduced by those colonialists.

Angels make your bread. Angels come with our bread
