GTX295 in RSA

about R1800 ... but have a friend already keen on it ... but look if he does not take it will let you know ... its actually from a dell machine, so its an nvidia reference board ...

The 295 was never going to be slower than 4870X2 at no point. Have had one to use since Tuesday its a potent card and drivers are solid :)

We will have to see what the 40nm RV8XX update in its X2 guise brings...
BTW performance has nothing to do with inter core communications. Stream processors in NVIDIA GPUs are just far more efficient and NV has more texture units...

Real killer from NVIDIA is Q3 2009, GT212 as that's 384 stream processors, 40nm GPU and 96 texture units... Powered through a 256-bit GDDR5 interface at very high speed. That VGA will be faster than GTX295 :D

Me love all the yummy toys coming out, there is still the c2d range of i7 cpu's to come.

So being a upgrade junkie is really going to become a very bad habit this year.

but how much bucks is a 295 gonna cost anyway? nVidia's Cards are damn expensive....

i'd wait till ati's next series launching in 2nd Q, for it's prices to drop by a little bit atleast if you intend on picking these up....Ati might also bring out another killer for cheaper, who knows?
 
I just wish they would fix the drivers for our cards. I am still not happy with the performance. And when are they gonna enable that damn sideport. :D
 
when the ATI's come out better , I will take me some of that and sell off my older, then when the Nvid's do the same, I will take those.

it's a perpetual cycle, I enjoy upgrading and enjoy my pc, so no need for worries on that.

Only key is one has to time the sell so that you benefit in getting the max cash for your old card to negate any large pay in to buy the newer cards.

Also remember that a single one of these has the power consumption which lays between a single 4870x2, and 2 x 4870X2's in Quadfire - so be sure to get a good power supply, ESPECIALLY if you intend on sli'ing later on.

PSU's are k@k expensive - just something to keep in mind if you intend on buying this card.

Well there's only 5 so most of the 5 have been taken , only 1 temp spot, so that's why I say there's 1 spot open, plus it is pay in advance.

So for the 1st few months these 5 peeps will be the only ones with the GTX295's locally until new stock comes from other sources.


I personally run me Coolermaster 1000w, but selling it soon plus a ezcool 1200w to go over to the new coolermaster u1000w
 
I need to see what price I can get the u100w for , but only gonna let the ez cool go not my CM psu's they are the best, I love them
 
i like my psu's design - it's a twin rail, but is designed very differently than other psu's - can even connect a skulltrail to it =)
 
yeah the corsair si my option number two, but me likes the new CM's u series with in-built surge protection.
