GTX295 in RSA

/strokes his faster ati card....

Been there, done that , let me 4870x2 go just last week, this baby is faster , so me have no issues changing.

in the last month alone I have sold of my 4850, 9800gx2 and 4870x2, so me been around the block.

these slutty GPU's just use me and move on to another happy buyer.

call me stupid, but what is the point in upgrading to another card if you current card is halling ass at 60fps and huge res's???? I mean, i'm lacking to see the point here???

nah, me think the x2 will beat it - a little more ram, gddr5 and not gddr3 and faster clocks.

the 4870x2 beats 2 gtx 280's in sli no problem, why do you think this will be different?

Even IF the nVidia beats it, ATi will just enable Sideport, lol....

oh yeah, and I am not a fanboi by any stretch of the imagination, as you can see from my cards that I have had.

I just live for the all the toys, my simple pleasure.

But don't worry buyers remorse makes me kick that little one out quite quick , quick

Faster than this 295 gpu i think not keeper :)

Nvidia are not stupid, why would they release a card that cannot beat the 4870x2?

Keeper please backup your statement: a 4870x2 beat 2 x 280gtxsli, show me proof of this because i find that hard to believe.

Yea some games its faster other games its slower :).

well afaik ati have not enabled sideport as of yet, which will double the total bandwidth amount that can be moved between the 2 gpu's. it's a new technology, so ati are still busy with the drivers.

so thats like a supra with a NOS system, but waiting for the gas to be connected. so even if nVidia's 295 beat it, ati will simply be sending us x2 owners a few NOS bottles.... and beat nVidia's holy grail of an over expensive card into dust.

sideport are basically those two little orange arrows between the GPU's :o

looks promising, and since Nvidia are only connecting the 2 gtx280's via a modified sli port, I think that sideport thing on the AMD system my just do the trick...

ATi's cards are just currently faster at ultra high resolutions, with lots of AA.

AFAIK the nVidia cards win at the lower resolutions.

I dunno, i was always an nVidia fanboi but i'm glad i switched to the other side, and i'm not looking back - plus the more ppl go ati, the more competition and the lower the prices will get for everyone...so I feel like i'm helping to bring "balance to the force"

Does anyone know if this card have DirectX 10.1 though?

well, IMO it doesn't really matter which one if they can't work together properly - but i know nothing of the "modified sli port" Scotty is talking about, so who knows?

I'm sure they could both very well stand head to head performance wise, but the 4870x2 will be much cheaper than the gtx295 when it arrives. also ati's soon to be 49xx series will push it down even further.

Question...surely this new card has still got a bit of "locked" potential? I mean I don't think nvidia drivers are currently optimised for it and so with time it should get even faster right?

They can't bring out the 49xxx cards yet, I only had mine for like 6 months now :(

2nd quarter I think ?

Yep, this happens with all next-gen cards - drivers always need to mature.

Look - this should be a good card but I Think that when it drops the 4870x2 is gonna be the card that most pick up as it will be within much more people's price range. or am I totally wrong here and everybody is gonna continue on the ol' nvidia bandwagon?
