Hi there,

I see Gautrain has started installing new card Readers in the buses that have the Contactless logo with support for Visa,Mastercard and American Express. Has anyone tried it or have any update for if it will be rolled out at stations as well?
This will be amazing as you won't need to reload any cards anymore, just tap your credit/debit card.

So are they phasing out the Gautrain cards?

Yes, they're on the bus I take to and from work everyday.
They were quite annoying at first, as I kept my bus card in my wallet and used to just badge the wallet when I got on the bus. Now all of a sudden the reader bleeps and shows a red light, as it's picking up my Mastercard.
I had to take my bus card out of the wallet, and I've put it on my lanyard with my work access card. That seems to cause no problems.
 
Apologies for the thread necro - anyone see the bulk email they sent everyone participating in the tap and go pilot program with everyone's email and cell phone number in the cc list??
