BTgames also has a special. If you order pre-release and decide to go for pre-order too they will basically deduct the pre-release amount value from the pre-order total, in other words R49.

Seems the BT-Games offer is the best? Their price is about the lowest (with Kalahari), but includes the pre-release stuff too.
 
I bought the BT games pre-release. It is R275 for the game and R50 for the pre-release pack.

Yes, that is what I meant.
Just the standard or collectors does not have the extra char slot so you will have to get the pre-release version to get the extra char slot and yes, I do think it will carry over.

I also thought the BT one is better, depends where you are in the country though. CT ppl might like the Take2 one.
 
yup thats where i was looking . cape town take two its just around the corner from where i work. thats prolly where i will go and get the pre-release. it's more for the char slot thatn anything else.

I got my Factions CE delivered to me in Cape Town from BT Games before the guys in JHB got theirs delivered from the same company :)

Oh.. It arrived the same day it got released in the country.

BTW, I bought a copy of the prerelease pack from their Brooklyn branch yesterday. Then I realised that I'd paid R50 just for the key. I wonder if it would've cost more to simply buy it online? Or do you have to buy the CD to get the extra weapons?

edit: Ummm, question: what are the benefits of "pre-ordering" a retail Nghtfall box, aside from boasting "me-first"?

I think it would've cost more online, the exchange rate is killing us at the moment. :(
The CD aint really important, it is the key that hooks up the items to your account.

Benefits is that you will be able to be one of the first people that can start playing immediately. Especially if you are a hardcore gamer. A lot of people will get it for boasting, like finishing the game first, getting elite weapons and selling for high prices :eek:, mapping first, etc etc. Internet / Online gaming is a entertaining world this way.

Case in point: There was a guy in Senji's Corner last night doing maths / calculus in public chat almost the whole evening :D

You will also receive preference if there is a shortage of product for some reason due to demand or shipping delays from the publisher.

It is like waiting lists for new cars. I mean the new GTI had a waiting list of 6 months and longer so people first in line could get the car first. :)

The last reason is probably more important to me. I'm not interested in boasting about it. I'd just like to carry on playing, that's all

woe is me, woe is me. I have to disband my guild, or at least leave it. Ok it wont be such a big deal cause we were only three members but we played well together. The onther two members are brother who hooked via adsl. Heres the thing over the past few months there adsl line has beed hijacked like almost 4 times and all the cap slaughtered in one night. this usually happens at the begining of the month so thats like an entire month without guild buddies online...harsh! Now they have done the only logical thing and cancelled their line. Now i am all alone "sniff,sniff". I would like join a friendly, no pressure South African guild. Anyone got any suggestions?

There are loads of SA guilds around. Some are more competitive / pressurised than others. Some have rules of law, some don't.
Some have PvP, some don't.

Depends what your fancy is and what type of guild you are looking for.

In our guild for instance, we don't have any rules or expectations.

Some are big, some are small.

Have a look in the Player list thread for some player names / guild names and some descriptions about the guilds.

Hi there all. tell me.... is it possible to run two computers playing gw from one normal telkom 56k dial up connection or are we inn for a lot of heartache?
 
We pla 2 machines on a capped Iburst connection (64k) with no problems. I'd guess, if its a clean line, you should be able to. Updates will be a killer though.
 
Recently i've heard some rumors about South Africans being able to get Provinsial Colours of Guildwars - does anyone know if there's any truth to this rumor?

Which axe do you guys think is the best?

Ironclaw or the Victo's Battle Axe
 
Personally I like Victo's Battle axe out of those 2 but some of the rare skin axe's with max fortitude and sundering would be a more desirable choice for me.
