Guild Wars, questions...

hehe, true that fishfly, but i would like to see something EPIC, where guilds control areas that can be raided, does FACTIONS provide this?
 
I agree this is the biggest thing missing in Guildwars ... other players! It gives a major edge to WoW and makes it so much better .... But likes you said $15 or euro's is just to much a month
 
Factions provide that guilds can control certain towns, but how this is implemented remains to be seen.
 
Yes I am interested to see how factions turns out. Where can I read up more about it? I played the Beta, but it only lasted 1 day, dunno if it was like that for everyone.
Almost bought Dungeons and Dragons online yesterday, but I found out it costs as much as WoW and offers less then GW.
 
Does anyone know how the town control will work in factions? I am very interested to know, I almost bought D&D online yesterday, but I found it, it costs as much as WoW $15 a month, and offers less then GW.

There is no pvp what so ever, don't get me wrong I know PvP isn't for everyone, but at least put it in as an option for those that enjoy it, like PvP or PvE server choices.

You ever thought about farming the ettins outside of Nebo?
Supposed to be a rune paradise ....
 
There aren't any ettins outside of Nebo anymore...

I did that 2.5K quest yesterday with a party of pure level 20's (OK, the one ele was level 19 and the leader did not want to take him, but the rest of us said to give him a chance). It is an elite quest in my opinion and I think Arenanet made a mistake to put it there. The boss is level 24 and pretty hard to kill. We had three ele's in the party and it took some serious nuking to take the boss down. And we started out from Bergen Hot Springs, rather than Lion's Arch. I would recommend disabling that quest for now, so that you can still move around safely in the Lion's Arch area.

Yes, I see they figured out the two new quests were to hard for the area and replaced them with easy ones.

Note, the ettins around the nebo village and ascalon settlement are still there. I killed a bunch of them yesterday evening. It is just the extra ettins added for the old luxon quest that is now gone again. I think I got about five runes from killing about 15 ettins solo, including a major vigor and a superior hammer mastery. I was just testing a build (mesmer 55 hp with Illusionary Weapon). Normally one would kill more ettins in a farming session.
 
i managed to do the bonus quest in Gates of Kryta last night thanks to Vexx's tips. Now i suppose i have to gang up on the quests available at LA to gain some levels for my Mesmer.

So now the 2.5k quest should be easier i hope... unlike last time i attempted it with my Ranger... eish...
 
Yes, the new quests are a joke. One just go talk to some people, with maybe a couple of fire imps and those bird men in the way, most of whom can be avoided.
 
Glad I could help. My Necro reached Lions Arch last night as well. I still have a couple of quest outstanding though. Will hook up with you guys again tonight.

EDIT: So i've ascended and i am still struggling on the cash situation, i can just about afford 1 piece of 15K armour now.
I think it's time to do a bit of farming. Anyone up for Ettin farming tonight?
 
Congrats. The prices of runes are very low these days, so unless you are very lucky, Ettins are not that good for farming at the moment.
 
Sup Vigor is 50K to the rune trader :D .... more than enough for me :D

I thought i'd be close to the end of the game by now but apparently not, still a while before i can create my ranger :D
 
Yes, I found one superior vigor Ettin farming. If that is still the price, then go for it. :D

Yes, you are about two thirds way. Also, make sure you now do the two quests for 15 extra attribute points each. That makes a huge difference.
 
You know, I have never gotten a cool drop. The best item i have collected so far is a green Bludgeoner. :)
 
so Vexx, what quests do you have in LA to do as yet? last night when we entered the portal my game got stuck while decompressing, thus my vanishing act... sigh...
 
I certainly had this experience last night, everyone in my party getting cool drops and i got a ton of "white" drops ....

Last night was the first night i got bored :eek:
