i have played WoW and to be honest i rather play GW simply due to its subscription absence and the easy in which to find local SA players to play with.

having less issues with lag as well and also being able to switch between servers to find people is a big plus to me.

Sheesh! Ive been gone for a week or two and the GW thread has more than dubbled in size! It is good to see that my favourite game is enjoying so much attention :)

I just got to the Southern ShiverPeaks this weekend, and boy does this game get hard. I also had problems in certain areas in the crystal desert. Those Sand Wurms are HUGE!

Have a look at the mission map at:
http://www.guildwiki.org/wiki/Borlis_Pass_(Mission)

@ Vexx007: Yes, there is one mission in the Soutern Shiverpeaks that has had many a grown man/woman in tears. It is the infamous ThunderHead Keep mission.

Thanks gkm...

"The Ice Drake is Whiskar Featherstorm. His cave is made accessible using the dwarven powder kegs. Bring a keg and set it up against the planks of wood that are directly behind and to the right of Rornak Stonesledge. Once this barricade is destroyed, there is nothing to hold the snow blocking the pass to the left of Rornak, and it will slide down the hill and out of your way. If it does not melt away, bring more kegs and place them. "

Will try to re-do the mission in the future just to hunt down the Ice Drake, i did speak to the dwarf but didnt know about the wall behind his cell block.

@ Useless, what is your character name in game?

@gkm Yeah, I know that one :) Some of my mates claims it is not so hard, and the others say it is hell. I guess I just have to wait and see myself :)

@Vexx007 - its Alarissa Slevetiva, Ranger/Necro lvl 13

i have been lately trying out the necro skills and what is the best class of necro to go for if you are a ranger? I noticed the Curses do help taking down big mofos with much ease and cripples their attack speed/armor quite considerably.

will blood magic be more of a benefit to your party or curses? death magic has a good impact on enemies, but its kinda selfish IMO... what do you guys think?

Your party will love you if you have well of blood, as long as there is not another real necro in the group that actually wanted the corpse. The problem is you cannot boost it very high, so you will never do it as well as a real necro. Therefore, I would say curses are probably best for the reasons you mentioned.

Personally, I seldom use skills from my secondary class after the ascalon area. I strongly believe in the "Jack of all trades, master of none" thing, so always put my attribute points in two or three attributes of my primary class. I therefore often take monk as my secondary class simply for the repeatable rez. To take an example from ele's, with an attribute value of 6 in fire, a fireball does 49 damage, which is nice but not a lot, while with 16 attribute it does 119 damage that can for example kill 4+ charr with one shot.

thanks for the info gkm... i will play around with curses since it seems enemies dont appreciate them and can benefit the party in taking down enemies faster.

one enemy spell i hate is Pacifism... my pet just sits idly next to me for 14 secs and i cant do a thing! Not even CTRL+SPACE help it attack an enemy!

Pull back, so that an enemy hit the pet and pop pacifism in the process.

Usually i lead and when they crop up from the ground i am the first one to be targeted... it wont be the case when human players lead though, only when i play with NPCs.

Where does one find better armor for the Ranger? Lions Arch? The armor at Yaks Bend doesnt seem to be worthwhile having minor differences and giving fire defenses mostly.

Best armor is at Droknar's Forge. If you want the armor early, then it costs about 3K to be run from Beacon's Perch to Droks. Then, the armor itself costs about 7.5K for the full kit.

If you do not want to take this shortcut for armor, then each city has same or beter armor than the previous one in the story, up to Droks. If you have good Ascelon armor at the moment, probably no need to buy again until you reach approx. Henge of Denravi. Buying armor for small increments is a waste in my opinion.

Yes, and also to weapons and shields etc as well.

Edit: To add, only some areas on weapons and armor change colour when dyed. For example, the fellblade sword has only a couple of small flecks that gets dyed, so it is very hard to see if it is dyed.

Going to try and find another Guild this evening, the members of the guild i'm in a hardly online, getting a bit tired of the henchies.

Struggling on Althea's Ashes .... i could buy the ashes off the market but that wouldn't be much of an achievment then ..

Im in a similar position than you mccrack. My guild members are hardly ever online when I play(Monday,Wednesday and Thursday on dial-up), but I dont want to loose my guild cape as I think the design looks really cool. It is all black with a nice shiny gold guild emblem.

I was thinking of joining TSS. gkm, do you have any spots left :)
