It amazes me the number of frikkin' dumbasses there are in the cities.
There's a frikkin' trade channel, but the local channel is chock full of trades. Are these people retarded or what?

There are a lot of people that feel the same way. Many people have switched off their trade channel to cut down on the noise level. Unfortunately the trade spammers therefore use general chat to keep up the spam. I personally try to keep my visits to Ascalon City, Lion's Arch and Droknar's Forge to a couple of seconds if possible. That is one benefit of a guild hall. One can go there for some peace and quiet.

Arenanet has promised trade improvements with chapter 2 that is supposed to cut down on trade spam. I really hope it works.

thanks to gkm for the quest which got me into Lions Arch last night... great playtime and now its time to look on forward and scout out Kryta!

will move my Mesmer/Monk up into post and try to get her far into the game too! :D

EDIT : Last night i failed the quest in pre searing to get the signet for my Me/Monk character, dunno why but i found an ally and somehow we cocked up the quest. Do i really need this signet or will Restore Life skill be sufficient to use as a Monk anyhow?

I finally finished all the missions this weekend, and boy was it fun. I'm now of to do all the end-game quests like Sorrows Furnance, The Underworld, Fissure of Woe, Tomb of the Primevil Kings, Capture Elite Skills and some PvP (Hall of Heroes here I come :D).

Did you talk to the healer standing just outside of the Ascelon City gate at the shrine while you had an ally? That is how you get the signet. Going over the wall is a seperate quest but one often do both together. Maybe you mixed them up.

But all is not lost. Try to see if you can buy it from the Skills trader in Ascelon City. You should be able to do that (maybe only if you already have the signet on another account.) For PVP, I often take both the signet and Restore Life. The Signet is much faster, so provides one quick res to get somebody up again and back to the fight (sounding like BF2 here :) ). If the round lasts longer, then the restore life skill becomes useful.

tks. will check with the healer tonight... then going to go post and proceed with leveling the Mesmer ahead so it can catch up with the Ranger at Lions Arch.

Yes, it was fun doing the Ring of Fire mission with you. :D Glad to hear you have them all in the bag now.

The person that was not infused there at Ring of Fire was a bit sad. My most powerful healing spell "Word of Healing" takes only .75 seconds to cast. Whenever I saw the poor guy/girl start loosing health, I casted that, but usually he was dead before the spell completed. I felt sorry for him spending half the mission lying dead on the ground. In hindsight, I should probably have focused more on keeping the rest of the team alive. At least when I found out he was not infused, I was not feeling so bad any more about the repeated deaths.

OK, if you are still pre then all is fine. It is usually easy to get somebody to go outside with you quickly for the signet. It takes about 30 seconds for the whole thing.

Yeah that was sad :p

However, at the next mission (Abbadons Mouth) we had another guy who wasnt infused! Unlike you, the people wasnt very kind to him :)

Have you dont Sorrows Furnance yet?

Wow, that is unbelievable bad luck. I think they should put up a sign at the 15K armor shops saying: "Please wake up and remember to have you flashy new armor infused again."

I considered for a moment typing: "You idiot". But I often get a lot of abuse when I play monk. So I try to avoid handing out any. Fortunately I get some complements for healing as well, otherwise I would have stopped monking long ago. So I thought it best to make a joke and carry on with the mission. We did finish it just fine, which is all that matters. A bit more deaths than I like, but one cannot have everything.

I have been to Sorrows Furnace a couple of times. Often initially best to do some exploring on your own with hench. Groups there tend to have a lot of dropouts. Groups only good if you plan to do green farming.

err... what is the infused thingie and will i also suffer if i dont get infused? ke?

You get infused in the Mines of Moladune mission when you start facing a new mob called the mursaat (and Jades). Before you get infused the mursaat deals 500 damage for 5 seconds to you and you have health degen, so it is basically a instant kill. After you get infused the damage get reduced big time, so that the spell isnt as effective any more.

@gkm I am planning to go green farming now. I really want a Rago's Flame Staff for my Ele

uh oh... thanks for the info...

how far is that from Kryta?

You have still a way to go.

From North Kryta you go to Maguuma Stade, from Maguuma to Southern Kryta, from Southern Kryta to Crystal Desert, from Crystal Desert to Southern Shiver Peaks where you get infused in the 2nd mission :)

Yes, I think the health degen from the mursaat spell is something like -10 (actually -24 but capped at -10) before you are infused and something like -3 after. A good monk can easily counter -3, but -24 is impossible to counter with any healing available. There is no way for a monk to generate +24 that I know about. The best I can do is +9. If a couple of mursaat attacks you and you are not infused, you would seldom last more than one or two seconds. You will see, it is part of the story, all about how you find a way to beat impossible odds. :) Well, excluding some not so smart ones who buy new amor later and forget to have it re-infused.

If I ever find one, I would probably just sell it. I just use the collector fire wand available right outside Elona Reach and a collector focus. It is just as good in my opinion and the horns needed to get the wand are pretty common. I have handed this collector wand out to five or six guildies as well. I think the Rago weapons are hugely overpriced. One reason is because they are very hard to get. Rago is hard to reach.

Mission 20. Do not worry, it is impossible to miss. Only real way to miss it is by buying new armor after this mission. (Only other way to get past the infused mission is with some pretty extreme running.)

But I REALLY would like an Rago's Flame Staff B)

I will try and get it or buy it, which ever comes first
