hi guys

i have a silly noob question - how do i get to the "defend the wall" quest place?

i know i should follow the arrow, but the arrow pints me to the arena. is this correct???

You walk out the back entrance of Ascalon City. As you say, it is close to the entrance to the arena. Following the arrow and looking for the little green star on the map should help you get there. This quest guides you to the starting point of the first mission in Guild Wars.

Ruins of Surmia comes later. Ruins is the third mission, after the Fort Ranik one.

As gkm said. Look for a stair case behind Warmaster Tydus and walk up it and turn left, this will lead you to the mission area.

thanx. found it.

i'm at yaks bend now and did the main quest there :D where do i go to from here?

lost the story after the ruins of surmia quest

after i did ruins of surmia my quest log was empty so i went to yaks bend

Ruins of Surmia mission should drop you at Nolani. At Nolani you can then do that mission which drops you at Yaks Bend. At Yaks Bend you will get a quest called "The way is blocked" which brings you to Borliss Pass, which is the start of the next mission.

Look for the shields on the continent map to see where you need to do missions. Shields that blink mean outstanding missions.

aaaa, i never got the nolani quest thing

did get to borlis pass though. now i just need to get to nolani. where is it more or less?

If you did the Ruins of Surmia mission, that must have landed you at Nolani Academy. At the end of the Ruins of Surmia mission you go through that teleporter to Nolani.

hmmm after a hard SF farming weekend I finally got my Ragos Wand and Ragos Staff :D

does anyone have a Manlinon's Shield for Sale?

anybody care to explain :

The mesmer skill Epidemic, what ailments will it propagate to adjacent foes if cast on an enemy? Will it infect others with Hex spells, ailment conditions?

While playing last night i noticed when my cultist in the party cast a weakness spell it propagated to the others when i cast Epidemic.

Any clues will be welcome as i want to know if its a viable spell to propagate Empathy or Backfire.

@Vexx007 & gkm - sorry about Sat evening but just as i was to join you guys i had a power cut... :(

Epidemic only spreads conditions, eg. fire, poison, bleeding etc. Do not know of any spell that spread hexes. If there was one, all mesmers would have it permanently equiped.

It is OK, we assumed you died somehow.

thanks... so its mostly viable to support an existing ranger/necro party member in spreading their damage then.

got it so i was just trying it out, hoping to unlock mind blast and spirit shackles soon at LA...

Warriors also like it, since it spreads bleeding and deep wound etc.

a quick query, gkm how many points you got into fast casting? i left it at 8 since its said that it grants a 30% reduction in casting time, anything above that is quite costly in regards to points.

My fast casting is current at 6 (5 + 1 from minor rune). Too many points in fast casting just cause one to blow enery too quickly. I therefore put mostly leftover points in fastcasting.

GW vs WOW

I have played both GW and WoW extensively, and the main difference between the 2 is that in GW you can only see all players on your server when you are in towns, unles you are grouped with them. and in WoW if you leave the city you can still bump into other players in the environment. Almost all of GW is instanced. In wow rivers and oceans really exist, and you can jump in and swim. where in GW water doesn't go higher then your knees.

The PvP in WoW is a lot more intense, and can be both annoying and extremely satisfying, unlike in GW when you are out questing in WoW, players of the other faction can come along and wipe you out, which usually leads to you calling some friends and fighting back, and then they call more friends and a small war begins.

That is the biggest thing that I miss about WoW, I remember when I played a Tauren and me and a friend got about 100 Horde players together, we Hi-jacked the alliance boat we landed on the Night Elves Island and launched a full scale attack on their capital city. The battle lasted over 3 hours, and eventually we were forced to retreat.

That is something that you can only dream of in GW, but alas $15 a month became way to expensive, and WoW is way to addictive for me.

for the simple game cost fee get a LOT in GW for free overall.

urm I would hate for bumping into all 1million players at the same time... imagine the chaos... and what if you are busy killing some monster for some exp only for some n0b to come steal your kill and raid your drops??????

imagine oh RAGOS wand... wtf? who's all these 100 ppl trying to steal my drop
