Guild Wars, questions...

I've been playing since this morning :D

gonna play the pre-order part today, but tomorrow it's back to tyria. There r white mantel that need to be defeated :p

we should all go out together a bit later and farm for fangs or do a quest there or something. What do u guys think? :).

if, of course, u guys have the pre-order thing?

Factions to Offer Special Extended Head Start Event 26 April 2006
As a special surprise "thank you" gift to Guild Wars fans for their support of the Guild Wars Factions Pre-order, we offer an opportunity to play Factions during a new Extended Head Start Event! This event will be open to those who already have enabled a Factions Pre-order access key, and those who do so before the planned end of the Head Start Event (11:59 p.m. PDT on April 28th or 6:59 GMT on April 29th). The Extended Head Start Event will pick up where the initial event ends, and will run for an additional three days. The Extended Head Start Event will end at 11:59 p.m. PDT on May 1 (6:59 GMT May 2).

ok i quickly need help plz

I went to cna bought the pre-order edition for 50rand if i install it now should i link my key to my current one or rather not as i am waiting for my CE edition how long will I wait for my CE probably much longer than 10 days and what will then happen if the 10 days expire my account is linked and I still dont have my CE ?
 
@ Dan the man: i managed to get my 250 fangs needed by farming. they're selling like mad though. and yes, thanx. i got to cantha. wanna run to monastary now. hope i don't get lost :p

@Dan, Havent had any lag at all today.

@DS, does the CNA one say that the key for Factions is a 'beta' key or something like that or is it retail key? Regardless of this, you can link the key to your current GW account at the login screen. If it is a 'beta' access key it simply means you will need to receive your retail key (your order for CE edition) within 10 days and replace the beta access key with it. If you do not receive a retail key, then you will lose those chars and exp, skills, items, etc. that were activated in the 10 days of use.
If the version you you bought from CNA is full blown retail key, all is good, all it means is that when you receive your CE, you will then have 2 factions keys.

Nope its just a pre order version this is what it says on the back of the dvd case

Pre-order owners get one day head start.

Well I went ahead and purchased the orignal guildwars this morning and having been playing all day :) Very cool so far.

Are most of you guys a part of guilds? or do you just meet up with random people and go do stuff together?

I would like to join a guild (hopefully south african) in about a week or so once ive got the hang of a few more things. Would you say that is a good time to join a guild or should I rather wait till I have a really powerfull character before bothering about a guild?

There is no need to wait with joining a guild. Being more powerful will only be interesting to some specialized guilds, which is probably not the kind of guild you will join initially in any case. So, sign up somewhere now. I would recommend joining an SA guild. It is more fun in my opinion. The WarGeeks guild is recruiting and there are plenty of other good SA guilds as well to choose from, many mentioned somewhere in this thread.

In regards to items being destroyed if you don't activate your account with in 10 days. It would be very short sighted of them if that's the case.

What's stopping somebody from playing on the pre-order key, collecting a whole bunch of cool stuff and then selling it to somebody for a lot of money. After 10 days the items you sold will then disapear from the persons inventory and they would have lost a lot of money in the process.
