Every sunday at 1:30pm for Ramadaan, but better be early, people go crazy and don't leave any for the others, like they ddnt eat for the whole year lol....

Thanks. That line just got longer

Found a place in Cape Town, Greenpoint while browsing. Called Truffle. Strictly halaal.
Went for supper there last night. They have an iftar buffet as well for R145 pp.

Service 5/5. Waiter was knowledgeable and service friendly.

Food 4/5. Best steak I've had this year. I ordered a steak stuffed with jalapeno. With Mozzarella cheese melted over.

Value: I think their meals were priced reasonably, you can check out their menu at trufleco.co.za and decide for yourself though.

Drinks 5/5: They serve mocktails and sparkling alcohol free wines. My drink rating is for what I ordered though. Which was the banoffee, banana and toffee milkshake. I loved it, best shake I've had in Cape Town.

All in all, a great place, with great food. My well done steak was flame grilled and slightly charred but not so much that I felt like sending it back. As an alternative to places I frequent like spur or ocean basket lol, it was a breath of fresh air and I will be going there again :)

Personally I feel like Halaal places take advantage of the fact that Muslims will eat there and therefore don't have the same level of standards like unhalaal restaurants. Atleast in CPT, that's how it is for me.

So basically, that leaves me with very few restaurants to choose from.

Good Haleem in CPT in from a place called Cape To India

Worse place in Durban is canvas grill (prev Maestros). Worst service, expensive menu, terrible food, small portions.

That halaal fine dining place in Musgrave? That's a pity. I wanted to try it.

Adegas in gateway. And casablanca in windermere Road is quite nice

Citymarket (Lebanese place) in Kinshasa does this iftaar thing for $20 . Includes soup, chicken, meat, wraps, chips and a drink.

Was OK, but opted for pizza today

Amazing how this thread has come alive in Ramadaan. Lol
