Halaal restaurants

Try the Turkish place in Mayfair (on Church Street) - way better then the Fordsburg ones. Decent sit down area. Apparently they also took over the restaurant in Midrand (at the turkish mosque). Love their "Iskender" dish.

You know how you go to a place a few time and the portions get smaller and smaller every time but price stays same or get higher?
I get the opposite from Istanbul - they keep increasing the portion sizes :D

Lol. The portions were quite generous.

I'm jealous about the choices you guys have in Jozi.
Getting bored of durban places.

Where exactly is this?

(or do I just keep going down Church Street till I find it?)

Start on church from queen street heading towards main reef, you will pass akalwayas on your left, then autostyle on your right. Between 6th and 7th street on your right you will find Saleh bakery, then Burhan Turkish restaurant, then Burhan butchery and a pizza place. The restaurant is between the butchery and the bakery. They are cooking outside, so you can't miss it

if you're going 'down' church street, you're coming from the BP garage side right?

You'll find Autostyle on your right (massive black building), its 100m down on your right.. Next to Salehs Bakery.

or

If you're coming 'up' church street, ie. from main reef road. Its at the 5th traffic intersection (on your left)

*Tip* the Pizza joint next door, Pizzagheti - makes a killer gnocchi!

Aurelie's
Waterfall Estate,
Country Estate Drive, Off Maxwell drive
(Between Reddam School and Century's Sales Office)

this place is now muslim owned. So its halal, but... its vegetarian. so no real point in being halal certified right?

Food i'm told is amazing, wife goes there regularly.

From the words of Ron Swanson.... "they are serving food that my food eats"
