What's important to understand is, with push vod your node box does not download the content, pushed means it plays like a regular tv broadcast in the background and gets recorded. Your 1tb hdd is not only for tv content, it has 4 partitions. Actually you will only have 10% new content every month. That is roughly 28 eps of tv shows and 14 movies.

Remember that DSTV's decoders are heavily subsidized. Even at the 2grand for the xplora they are losing money. It's just how much they cost.
 
Im looking for a deal with the hardware subsidised or has monthly payment terms, any deals available?

I wouldnt punish myself taking it out with Cell C at the same price as Vodacom.

Looks like they forgot to calculate it properly.
Device retails for R3499
R589 per month less 2GB @ R99 subscription - R490/month
R490 x 24 = R11760 for the device?:eek:

Yes it does. As I said in my post and on the site.

So minus the R299 a month*24 for that which is R7176

Minus that from your R11760 and we are left with: R4584

So you pay an extra R191 a month to finance the device.
 
Might be a silly question, but what is the internet link on this thing used for? Streaming or just for comms when registering and making purchases?

No streaming is done via 3G. It gets used for comms and the device has wifi so you can connect your phone/tablet for internet access.
 
My local Dion could not confirm if TV licence is required for the Node, they dont have a cooking clue,,,,

Why would you need a TV license for something which is not a TV?

Ok, I confirmed with Altech Node call centre, it's not required but they strongly advised me not to cancel my Licence,,, hahahahaha
