Was checking out my Smoothwall's hard drive space usage, and it hit me.

For a moment I was unsure of it.

Did we really had 20Mb, 40Mb and 80Mb hard drives back then?

Anybody remember those Kalok HDD's, prone to failure? :D

Can't believe that we are now approaching Terabyte storage space at this stage... 20Mb's a drop in the ocean when compared to a Terabyte HDD...

Or maybe it's because I'm getting old... :D

The other day I had a guy ask me if it was possible to UPGRADE his PC (386), by installing a hard drive :)

once of my first pc's had a 20mb hard drive with a 16mhz processor
the one before that had 0.985 MHz proccessor and 64 KByte RAM

He he I remember my 8mb Hard drive. When I installed Dune 2 it took up most of the space - 5 or 6 stiffies!

hehehe :D

can remember the frustration (and a small hard drive) when you want to try out some new game, delete the old game first, then install the new one...

my 1st pc didn't have a hdd. Would boot the pc with a: and put the software in b:. Had to swop like 10 floppies to play through an adventure game, and there were always rooms you had to avoid due to bad sectors.
my 1st hdd was 20megs and it was bliss.

What do you mean, the original Leisure Suit Larry fitted on 1 floppy, or was it two  kept me going for a while, until we learnt about spoilers on the BBS :D
