Nothing new there. They did the same to me two years back. Also with a gpu.
 
So somehow I think it wasn't a supplier error.

Cant seem to find any info online, is the "Procella
Magsafe 1 Macbook Charger (45W)" that was available today from onedayonly safe to use?

There are many compatible chargers that might appear to work reliably but most of them have serious defects that could cause them to catch fire at some point in the future. This website (lygte-info.dk) reviews many of the compatible brands such as LDNIO, Energizer, Anker, Aukey etc. After looking at how many of the devices have serious safety issues I now only purchase high quality chargers from Samsung, Sony, Huawei, Apple etc. Brands like Anker, Aukey and Ugreen also seem to be reliable but many of the other devices available locally may have serious issues.

Apple 61W, 12W, 5W charger teardowns - Apple definitely makes some of the best chargers available but they are expensive.

Only checked my phone now and sms says R308 reserved - what a bargain. (Total was R299 + R59 delivery = R358)
Used zapper payment method on site via the FNB app.
