Is this nvme drive worth it or does it still make sense to pay more and go for Samsung.

Currently running a Samsung SSD but the drive is now full so it's time to upgrade and thought now is the time to go nvme so just looking for best price to performance options out there.

Yeah I have been looking at 970 Evo Plus for a while but it's almost double the price. Will want Min 500gb but ideally 1tb so won't need to worry about it for a while.
 
Have a standard 1tb Mushkin SSD in the house and I swear it's one of the slowest SSDs I've seen to date as far as copies go.

According to one of the newer Linus vids, it's one of the major drawbacks of QLC drives.
However, loading times in games weren't such a big difference at all - so for "typical use" it's not too bad.

Thanks but I'm sure nvme would be faster? It will be used in my everyday machine so maybe I just go Samsung 250gb for boot and try manage my files better (have 8tb HDD in PC) as current Samsung SSD is full. Will see how it goes.
 
Yeah I've been eyeing the NVME drive myself as it looks like great bang for buck, but the experience with the 1tb Mushkin SSD (in one of our PCs) and also one in a buddy's laptop as the OS drive (Random freezing in Windows, intermittent sluggishness) I'm feeling a bit wary.

Took the hit and went with a 250gb Samsung nvme some time ago and it's obviously great, except for the size... Hopefully someone will try the Mushkin NVME and give us some feedback.

Other reviews also don't seem half bad especially considering the Samsung 970 Evo plus 500gb is R1k more and half the size.

I'm sure for normal day to day tasks and games etc this should be fine.

It's in my basket just struggling to press buy button.

Been shopping around for a pair of wireless headphones and itching to pull the trigger on the sennheiser pxc550.. The cost though..

These look a great deal, but reading the reviews everyone complains about the Bluetooth connectivity, crappy plastic cracking within a few months, noise isolation below average.. just doesn't seem worth it even at 900bucks..

If there are complaints of connectivity issues then stay far away.

I had some expensive LG earbuds that did that, put your phone in your pocket and they start randomly cutting out, eventually they drove me to the point of mashing them into little pieces when for the nth time I got loud choppy glitchy audio. Actually even the R8k retail value Bose noise cancelling bt earphones I had for a while did that sometimes, those things are another story all together. Go read up on them on reddit what issues they have, headphones that need constant firmware updates and updates that break functionality etc, yay another device that constantly needs to be babied.

I've got the Plantronics Backbeat fit and they are excellent. Range with line of sight is like 50m or maybe more and no connectivity issues.

I've never had to update the firmware. Only gripe is that they are too soft on an aeroplane, but at the gym they're fine.

I heard there were quality issues with the Bose ones when I did buy (inline button would pop out the cord/housing), which is why I went for the cheaper Plantronics. So far so good.

It really shows how it pays to research and not just trust a brand name (like Bose).
