I'm looking for a low profile gpu to replace my old x2400. Looking for GTX750ti, GT1030 or better, but something that can run from PCI Express power (no molex power connector).
Any recommendations?
What are you needing it for? HTPC, lightweight gaming, transcoding?

Also what is your budget?

Lightweight gaming (mostly RTS and the occasional CS:GO) and later as media centre. Budget is anything from R600 to R1 400, depending on specs.

I think an AMD RX550 would fit the bill quite nice for your use case. Maybe a bit more than your budget, but it is a bit more powerful than the equivalent nVidia card (GT1030) for a few hundred rands more.

RX550 (maybe check stock beforehand) https://www.wootware.co.za/gigabyte...r5-128bit-pcie-3-0-desktop-graphics-card.html | https://www.wootware.co.za/asrock-r...r5-128bit-pcie-3-0-desktop-graphics-card.html

GT1030: https://www.wootware.co.za/palit-ge...5-64-bit-pci-e-3-0-desktop-graphics-card.html

The CSGO seems to favour the nVidia card more: https://www.techspot.com/review/1488-esports-geforce-gt-1030-vs-radeon-rx-550/

And what about if you are (for argument sake) attempting gpu passthrough and just want the slower card for host system? Still the same recommendation?

Evetech does mean no after sales support lol
Well had a dead motherboard the other day went in and they replaced it on the spot.

Not saying that have not been bad in the past but they are getting better

From what I've heard and read, going in store is fine but doing anything support related via their online channel is next to impossible.

Low profile gtx 1650/Ti cards will be available soon. I know Zotac & Asus have cards on the way.
