Hi any link to how this Amazon Prime service works? Delivery, customs etc

It’s all calculated and shown to you before you pay. The courier also manages the process with customs.

Make sure you set your address correctly when browsing the site so that they show stuff that ships to SA.

You'll just get a phonecall when the stuff hits customs because they need to ask for your ID number IIRC. Last time I bought something of amazon it was that way.

They now include the option to enter your ID number before you pay.
(At least that was the case last time I checked  )

Amazon asked me to record my ID number with them when I checked out, but the process kept on hanging my browsers. I think if you manage to store it with Amazon it saves you this step.

Yup, they do.. bought two weeks ago.. over and above that, Aramex will also get in touch if your ID number is not present.. they now have a WhatsApp bot where you can provide them with info they ask and track your package..

Yip i bought for the first time from amazon a month ago, i'm not on prime and everything was the same as you mentioned above. i did pay for expedited shipping but that was a waste because customs held it for three days for basically no reason. All in all i got my package in a week even after the customs delay. i wasnt asked for ID number or anything like that

I know this is not the thread for it but seems like many Amazon buyers in here.
What happened to the 3 per annum limit on imports ? Does it still apply? I want to shop on amazon more but i'm worried about the importers licence after reaching the 3 limit.

it still applies has been for many years.

It hardly gets enforced with aramex shipping.
UPS and DHL might give you problems.

Yep, no issues so far with Aramex.

I bought the Apple Watch Series 3 38mm on Amazon Prime for $169.99.

Shipping using Aramex Global. Let's see how it goes.

Has never been enforced. Some couriers will insist on it though and limit you.
