This is great and all, but unless someone has a time machine this information is useless to me and likely many others. My decision to purchase a new laptop was influenced by a change in my employment circumstances in late November, as well as the record setting Stage 6 load shedding in December. Otherwise I would have stuck with my desktop machine.

So that being said, I have spent a fair amount of time over the last couple of weeks looking for similarly spec'd laptops, and this was the best current offer I could find locally online. Every other local site offering similar specs at that price either didn't have an SSD or had a lower end graphics card, or was charging 15k+.

(Except for Evetech, who had higher spec machines, but couldn't even be bothered to reply to my email. Not to mention the huge risk I'd be taking considering the after sales support they offer).

Yeah. At 13k. It's really not a bad deal.

There are also wootbooks at decent prices per specs as well.

Also Amazon isn't too bad:
Same laptop but with 120hz screen.
Acer Nitro 5 with ryzen 5 2gen, RX560 was also on sale like last week for about R11000.

Any tips on getting a Samsung Galaxy watch active 2? Best prices?

Any differences between buying locally or from Amazon? Would the US version with Samsung Pay work here, as I hear the International version on Amazon does not have Samsung pay included?
Local Samsung store recons the version they sell here has SP working, but Amazon does not have that exact model.
Any tips would be appreciated please!

I've been waiting for ages on Wootware to update their wootbooks, but no stock since late last year.

I was actually going to get the machine you linked above, but chose to take a hit on getting the better screen in favour of literally walking into a shop and picking it up. I was hoping load shedding might ease up and I could wait a few days but no such luck. I expect us to be Stage 2 for most of summer, since they're going to want us to have power surplus over winter, and I have tight deadlines on my freelance work.

The one you posted is micro usb / USB interface, one I posted is usb C / USB.

Depends on your needs. All the new smartphones is usb C so if you have a modern cellphone it is the way to go if you want to attach it as storage to your phone, other than that it is basically same specs.

Why do these USB3 drives get so extremely hot? Bought two of these mini ones and had no problems when copying small amounts of data - #1 started failing directly after I copied over just north of 40GB in one go. Returned it. The same fate was bestowed on #2 directly after it also had to endure a 35GB sustained transfer.

I am hoping that the bigger ones won't get as hot, or at least spread the heat over a bigger area. Anyone have experience with this SanDisk? Reviews also mention a heat issue :crying:
