Takealot has an HP Notebook 255 Ryzen 3 8GB RAM 256GB SSD 15.6" Notebook for a little over R6k in their Unboxed Deals section. The specs aren't all that great - mediocre display (not FHD), smallish 41Wh battery, but could be a decent laptop for someone needing one for school/uni or for a relative in need. Of course it being an unboxed deal, caveat emptor.

If you can give me a few days I will report back on a 240GB Netac 2.5" SSD that I bought.
Seems to hold a 60-month warranty which seems decent. I paid R500 for it on Takealot
