I received mine today. I followed @insect's path & did much the same, though I have yet to update the O/S.

No problems thus far.
Should work eitherway.

Same with Mweb fire routers that you get from Mweb only has annoying UI and presets (then again our lines are plug and pay no configs needed)

Any idea why the Ryzen 5 5500 has a higher base clock than the Ryzen 5 5600?

Did some digging earlier, and it looks like although the 5500 has a higher base clock, it only has half the L3 Cache of the 5600 as well as a lower boost clock, and also no PCIe 4.0.

I want to use it in my hands and not on a desk. So more like mini keyboard that can clip onto a smartphone. Almost like the Samsung Fold phone but the one side is the physical keyboard.

I'm looking to gradually replace my 4th gen i5, and GTX760, purposes for machine will be the very odd bit of gaming, will dedicate the old hardware to a simulator.

Is the Ryzen 7 series overkill? Or is the 5 series sufficient for average lifting? I've been out of the hardware scene for a while now

This is the norm.
I'm not complaining, having access to this stuff in south africa on launch date is astounding.
There's a new set of Rode headphones that was released worldwide last week, it was available locally from 3 places last week as well (for exactly the same price). What irks me is that it's 25% cheaper from Amazon UK. Landed, with VAT and duties paid. So I got it from there rather - it helped that Amazon UK had a specific Mic I wanted at almost 50% off. But even without that that mic would be 25% cheaper as well.

I've had a 5600X since January last year. Replaced the 3rd gen i7. It works great.
