Yeah bought about 5 / 6 items from them, all delivered fast. Only 1 ordered was canceled claiming it was a stock issue but it was a pricing issue, refund was also quick.

After watching almost every review on Hardware Unboxed / looking at RTings I've become rather picky and would definitely advise folks against getting this display.

The last Mecer 32" panel I bought from Wootware was the first item I actually sent back and flogged through carbonite. Absolute rubbish.

Before buying a monitor, please check out their reviews for recommended displays:

It's worth spending more to get a proper display as it's the "window" to your system and makes a hell of a difference.

I also had a 32" Mecer, but a 144hz VA panel so not the same as this one. I had it for a year before I sold it to get the Dell S2127 DGF I have now. The Mecer wasn't that bad, it just just wasn't that good either.
What it did was it made me realize that I want a good 144hz display.
I think around R5K - R6K was a reasonably fair price for what I got, considering my Dell was just under R9K for a 27" at the time.

This is of course a completely different panel, so whatever my gripes were with that monitor, this one will be different.

As for 1440p on a 32". It's not bad, but for the same price I would actually go 27" for gaming.

For software dev there is just no contest, 4K all the way.
If you don't care about colour accuracy, almost any 4K will do, although I still wouldn't get a TN panel.
Just get something with a VESA mount, because a monitor arm is the next thing you will want.

I personally use a 4K 27" @ 100% scaling at about 60cm from my face and it's fine, but some people find the text too small.

That Dell is a solid IPS monitor for the money, recommended it to quite a few friends. I used the LG 27gl83a which has a very similar IPS panel and was excellent value for money (amazon black friday deal some years ago). The Dell 27 DGF has been the value king from local suppliers for quite some time.

If money no problem, then this Alienware display looks like the king:

If one can wait then the LG C2 42" on Black Friday would be my go-to deal if you're keen to give your eyes a feast at the cost of leaving your wallet deceased.

I'm quite surprised at the local price of the C2, as it's sold for nearly double the price of the C1 in most markets whereas here it's only 1k difference.

PS. A 48" on your desk is definitely not be for everyone, but having gotten used to it I don't have an issue with it at all - it just needs to be placed 2 arm lengths away instead of the standard 1 arm's length away. I primarily game on it.

You do not want to use an OLED for your PC monitor, the static images could cause issues.

This is quickly becoming a myth and many people are using OLEDs for monitors. Even for people who don't know how to look after OLED, there is built-in protection that negates burn-in. You might also want to read the Rtings OLED burn-in test, IIRC on an LG. You'll be surprised.
