It's my OS drive, so all my programs and the main game I'm playing at the moment and then I have two mechanical drives. If you use your SSD as a scratch disk, main drive for everything sure but a normal person will reach 50TB writes in maybe 10 years. And whats your use case?
I see that they also have the SD650 which is an SLC SDD

I think the 650 is TLC, they will all be perfectly fine for a normal person. If you're going to be editing hours of video everyday maybe not so much. And whats your use case?

Certain SSDs, mostly entry-level models with TLC NAND flash memory such as the OCZ Trion 100, utilize a feature called SLC Write Cache to enhance write performance. Using this method, a portion of the available capacity is being treated as SLC (1bit-per-cell) NAND flash memory. When the drive is performing a write just one bit, instead of three in case of TLC, is being written thus improving the write speeds drastically. Once the SLC Write Cache has been filled, it will be "flushed" to the rest of the drive to free up the cache again. Under common desktop workloads, the user typically does not experience this transition. However, under heavy workloads, there may be a temporary drop in performance once the SLC Write Cache is filled and the drive is still being written to. The drive's performance will recover once the cache has been flushed.

That's not really a good price for a open box card. For 50% of that you can buy a used one on Carbonite with warranty. I bought a MSI RX570 Armor for R1400 in Dec with box and warranty to give you an idea of current prices.RX580 8GB R3300 Unboxed deal
