For that price I would risk it. The proper gym stuff is usually R 1000+

How bad is 1080p at 27" everyone obviously says get 1440p but how bad is it really ?
wanted a 27" for a long time.

Also this is IPS but how bad is VA ? lots of 1440p options are VA

I’d agree with the guys above. 1080 is not worth it these days at 27”. Rather save up.

Don't cheap out on a va panel. Rather save a bit more and get an IPS panel that is much better.

It probably depends on how sensitive you are to these things. I have a 1080p 27" Dell at home, which is mainly used for gaming, and honestly, it's fine for me, but then I haven't actually ever experienced higher resolutions, and will try and keep it that way, since then everything will have to be upgraded to get acceptable framerates again...

Ja, the second you compare 1080p to 1440p side by side it's shocking.
I can't believe how big the difference is when I check my gf's 1080p display in games. Thinking back to when I used a 1080p for gaming it was really fine, but now it looks like 720p.

Agreed that you keep it this way - a new CPU, Mobo, RAM and GPU will most likely be needed to drive a 2/4k monitor.
Also don't just buy any 2k monitor. I was shocked at how much smudging/ghosting there is on VA Panels.
LG IPS Panel was way better but the heavy grey backlight is quite offputting.

I enjoy and appreciate my LG OLED every day with the LG IPS as a second display now.
The difference between OLED and IPS/VA/TN is as almost as large as 1080p vs 2k to me.

I am not a pixel snob. For context I have an old 55inch Samsung plasma TV and an old LG 24inch IPS as my main monitor at home.

At work I have a new "fancy" Dell 24 inch VA panel and lets put it this way... the VA panels suck compared to even older IPS screens. At 27 inchs I would claw my eyes out I think. The panel feels blurry and I mainly look at text all day. There is like a soft halo around the letters. Its just not sharp at all.

If you want to save then get a second hand IPS. If you can wait then save for an IPS.

I see the reviews are kinda good, although it is a VA panel.
