Henry not trying to put you off that 1Tb Iomega but maybe just give it some thought that if you want to claim warranty with Iomega they want the whole shaboodle back.
So if
a)the case loses power(as what happened to me on a 500GB single Ext)
b)either of the 2 x 500Gb drives fail in the 1TB product
your going to break warranty trying to get the data off it by having to open the case. I.E no data or no warranty.

My dealings with Iomega as a 1st & last time customer.
They snootingly told me it was an unauthorised repair attempt when i told them i'd opened up the Ext drive case to check that the sata plug had'nt worked loose or something.

They did offer to still do a swap out but wanted ALL of it back.
i tryed getting them to just accept the case back for replacement as the drive itself was fine......That they would'nt accept.

Went and bought a Vantec case & put the drive in there in the finish.
Now i can send EITHER the HDD or the CASE back for warranty if need be now.

On a positive it was a Seagate drive inside for me on that 500Gb single i had.

I believe some people bought in that last sale
This free program i came across can tell you what drive is in them without opening it up if anyone cares to know.

Ok man, I did buy one in the last sale - seems I will not be buying another one then :p

Can get 2 x 500GB for almost the same price. Much better idea.

Maybe not pure hardware, but whatever...

Sahara DVD+R media - 18X Writable, 4.7GB / 120min - 50pcs Spindle @ R87.00
With the cheapest insured delivery (R40) it comes to about R127.
Now, have anyone ever tried this out? How is the quality? If it aint that great...fine it's cheap so it would nice for sending people stuff that is not ment to last. Cheaper to send 200GB of data like this, than with a harddrive :p

But, now the LG 16X DVD-R 4.7GB - 25 Spindle Pack @ R54 looks more inviting.
R54 x 2 gives you R108 + R29 delivery the last time I checked. Thats R137.
Know the name better, but same question about quality.

Then in the quality department is seems like Verbatim 16x DVD+R 4.7GB Thermal Printable - 50 Pack Spindle @ R143 is the winner?
Thermal Printable too. With delivery its R172.

Unless you like HP DVD+R media - 16x / 4.7GB Writable - 50 Cake Box @ R126 more.
+R37 Delivery makes it R163.

Choices Choices Choices ...

I ignored these shop's prices:
RebelTech
Simplicity
Zaps
....just because
