Here is the HP Laptop special at GAME starting tomorrow (from what I can make out from the image):

G6-2200si

R3999

Intel Core i3 2370M 2.2ghz (shouldn't that be 2.4ghz?)
4GB Memory
500GB Hdd
Windows 8
15.6"
36 month on-site warranty.

Which one would you guys recommend between this & the Makro special on the Acer?

Considering you can buy a carry bag for just over R200, save R250 and get the Game special....

Spec wise, they seem to offer the same.

They were selling the exact same notebook at incredible connection in Feb for R4999.

Did see someone on BoB advertise it for R4236 if not mistaken. I would wait but if you need it asap then purchase it. It use to retail for R7999

For those of you who missed out on the Acer laptop special from Game: they will have an HP with the same Spec on special for R3999 from Wednesday with a 3yr on-site warranty included.

Personally, I am glad I got the Acer as my disaster ownership experience with a Pavillion DV6000 has turned me off HP notebooks for life. At least this one will last a minimum of 3yrs!

I also had bad experience with a new HP laptop in the last year. We actively try to AVOID HP laptops no matter the price savings,

****ing tell me about it. my gpu went last night on my 6000. FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually managed to purchase 3tb Verbtain from Game as long as it does it's job I am happy and can save a few rands, not so worried about speed etc..

I make use of Toshiba notebooks they have never failed on me once. Also keep it on 24hours a day x 365 days a year x 3 :) but due for an upgrade hopefully opening deals on a new store will have something awesome

I managed to get one today, but it was a demo model, it is quite badly scratched and looks like it has been used or at least abused. what is the current discount game offers for demo/display products? anyone know?

and how do i disassemble the external enclosure?

Return it back, they shouldn't sell returned items on special as a new ones.

Esquire Midrand has 1 Asus GTX670 Direct CU2 OC 2GB left for R4650 incl VAT. Bought one yesterday afternoon. I think the special ends today. A solid R500 cheaper than any other dealer i could find.

IC has 750Gb 2.5 Verbatim external on special for R599

Pulled a 1TB 2.5" WD Elements @ R698 @ Games. Kicked myself last week for not getting the IC deal, now it is such relief - needed one for my RPI.
