The chain stores had some super specials but I was hoping to get something now after the major rush hehe.

I did see some good pricing online earlier but the shops are either closed, have unknown. Stock or no stock. Also pricecheck etc don't update as quick as they used too.

I will update here if makro responds to my email with on a positive note :)

I haven't seen any cheap drives since the floods in Taiwan :(

And my 1.5TB drive is acting up :(

Hi everyone,

Anyone seen or heard of 2 TB going around R899 like makro had earlier. Would like to gift it to my cousin before she leaves to go home. This would beat copying 20 DVDs of anime.

Thanks,

Got a 2tb Verbatim usb 3 HD for R899 a month back from Makro. Not sure if they still have the special

USB 3.0? that was damn cheap.

This thread though is evidence that there's not much going on anymore with good deals.
Well except for Esquire, but the retail brick and mortar stores have been a let down.
And don't mention Zones! :p :D
Not all of us are in DBN :o

Seagate Barracuda Hard Disk Drives - 1.5 TB from Kalahari.com for R914.95.

Pretty decent for a 1.5TB these days...

Concerning factor for me:

Seagate has a proven track record of consistently delivering reliable products in volume, and the new Barracuda 7200.11 family is no exception.

Isn't the 7200.11 the firmware that had all of those failures sometime back though? :wtf:

Thanks guys, 1.5TB is very decently priced but keep a lookout for a better deal, I know it is out there. :).

looking for a cheap PCI-E GPU ... any specials ??

How much u willing to spend? U get cheap gpus which are useless and u get pricey gpus that may be on special?

The WD External 2/5" HDD for R1199 seems like a good deal. And its USB 3.0 ready.

Glad to see this thread is still going strong :)

I am looking for a keyboard. For a PC. That does not suck. I cannot find anything even slightly decent for under R1000. Has the world gone mad?

I am thinking brushed aluminium and something close to the keys one finds on a laptop.

You can get them bundled with iMac clones. But I don't want that. I just want a keyboard. Any ideas?

I have read a ton of reviews and watched to many videos on keyboards and I have decided to get a mechanical keyboard. The Thermaltake Esports Meka G1 is my favorite and it fits your budget - sporting cherry mx black keys, not the best for typing but for fps games its awesome. The Razer Ultimate is also mechanical but uses cherry mx blue switches but they are loud - strong clicking noise. If I can get a keyboard with cherry mx brown it will be the best imo, no sound and good for gaming and typing.

Thanks for the response.

I didn't think to say that I only need it for typing, not gaming and I don't care how loud the keys are :)

Will check out the links.
