Anyone know where I can get a good deal on entry level 1080p laptops? I see even most mid-range laptops have silly 768p displays which should have been be outlawed in 2017!

Budget? Preferably under 10k.

1) Entry Level
2) 1080p
3) Under R10k

Pick two :D

If you can stretch the budget to R11.5k you can get the Gigabyte P45GV7 from Loot for around that price: http://www.loot.co.za/product/gigabyte-p45gv7-sabre-15-15-6-core-i5-gaming-notebook/rdcy-4887-g380

Do take note that it doesn't come bundled with Windows

Takealot also has the Asus X556ua for R10019: https://www.takealot.com/asus-x556ua-intel-core-i7-15-6-notebook/PLID44705820

And it ^ comes with Windows 10

Thanks! I do mean "entry-level 1080p" as in a basic laptop with a 1080p screen not entry-level in general.

That Asus actually looks like a good option, I'll read up a bit.

Most of the 1080p laptops are fairly high-powered as peeps generally buy them with the intent of using them for light gaming - hence why the 1080p ones with integrated Intel graphics are scarce and one mostly finds laptops such as these with discrete graphics solutions.

Best of luck!

Thanks, that seems like exactly what I'm looking for.

What the hell is Windows 10 EM edition? Is that supposed to read OEM? Cannot find any reference to an EM edition.

Yes its Windows 10 Single Language so guess its meant to be OEM. Only downside is the laptop is Silver.

Looking for a cheap NAS bay.
I have HDD's already. Anyone know where I can get one for cheap?

Not sure if this is way over your budget, but I can highly recommend the HP Microserver. Takes 5 3.5" drives. I'm running XPENology on mine from a bootable USB and using it as a Plex server and Surveilance server.

Interesting. I have a few computers laying around. I was going to install PFSense on what to see what the hype was about.

I think I will install this XPENology thing that I heard of now for the first time.
