Amazon (left), Local store (right) for the same thing just different brand (essentially a flat piece of metal). One ships from the US and the other from Joburg yet they cost the same to get to my door. Went with Amazon because the product was the better one.

Don't know how that makes sense, R90 to ship from the US and R150 to ship from Joburg.

Tell me about it. Same goes for other products. I find it difficult to support local guys when they overcharge like that.

Been buying more and more from Amazon. It's amazing what they ship to SA these days. Previously it was only books and DVDs. Now I buy a lot of electronics, cables and other stuff from them.

Any views on this laptop:
HP 250 G4 i5 Notebook

I can get it new for R4,700.

My SO uses her laptop for work - writing reports, email etc - basically for using Office 365 and browsing and not much else. She currently has a Celeron but it's super slow.
Was wondering if an end-of-life i5 would be better?
And also wondering if that's a decent price?

I5 is much better, the 6200u still has plenty of life in it.

She will still be slowed down by the hdd, but will be quite a bit faster than the celeron.

It is anyway going to be free with your ebucks :P

If anyone is looking for a Gas Cylinder for an office chair check with Waltons. After 6 years the cylinder ran out of gas on my chair from Makro.

Does Waltons sell them?
How much?

@airborne @Budza I paid R230 for the cylinder. They do a match according to the old one you have.

Picked up the nascar racing chair from makro yesterday.

Pretty good for R1299 i reckon. Really nice lumbar support.

I had a R500 gift voucher so that did make the decision to get it easier.
:( 0 Vouchers and price increase
