Any idea how long customs might take over December? Or even how long it normally takes? Am hoping to get my package before I leave on the 19th or it's going to be with the courier for over a month... It arrived last Thursday.

Aramex can take any amount of days, it's just random.
DHL on the other hand is almost most of the time same day or next day cleared.

I didn't pay any premium.
Amazon seem to not be using Aramex anymore.

When did you order? I placed my order on the 26th of November, chose standard shipping and Aramex are bringing it in. In their defence, it got to JHB pretty fast, it's just been sitting there for a few days while govt does their part of the job.

27th of November.
It was three shipments, a mix of DHL and UPS. The stuff is all at home.
They're still using Aramex.
Got my items delivered in 5 days from date of order and they used Aramex

Ah probably because we complained about Aramex last time... Hmm... maybe it's that!
Just received an Aramex parcel from Amazon.
If anything from Aramex goes beyond the due date open a ticket with Amazon through the website. After complaining last time my shipment was released the same day, and I was refunded the shipping fees.

Phone Aramex. There was a guys email address floating around, that you could email to expedite the process.

I ordered some stuff last night, delivery is scheduled for 26-27 December with standard shipping. The more expensive shipping would have been before 19 December I think.

Open the ticket with Amazon! They will **** on Aramex from a dizzy height.
I've actually found it impossible to get through to Aramex by phone, email, web ticket, or app ticket in the last 2 weeks. Rather let Amazon do it...

That's what we did and suddenly 8 hours later the stuff was delivered.. was earlier in the year
I have emailed them and they said they're following up, but I'll call them again tomorrow.
That's good to know. If nothing has happened by tomorrow I'll follow up with Amazon.
Date was supposed to be delivered today. Still in JHB.
I just chose standard 2 weeks shipping. Didn't have any choice about who it went through. I even checked now. All you can do is choose premium or not.
Geez, I would have opened a ticket with Amazon already. If you tolerate crap you will get crap.
Eh, it's not super important to me. I'm on holiday and sorting out other stuff in my life. That being said, I checked and the package has been cleared by customs and will soon be on its way from JHB.
