Just got my notification for import taxes. I need to pay R225 on a R1500 order.

im just checking some stuff and its very similar priced to takealot

so not so cheap
Yeah, same here. I can't say I found anything useful (and reallly really cheap) although I grudgingly admit that I browse that site once in a while so success for them in a way.

That's a ripoff.
Nah, I dont think so. I would have paid much more for the items if I got it locally. Now the only question is what the quality will be like, but I dont think there will be any major issues.

I ordered some metal cookie cutters, creality stuff for my 3d printer, bearings and shocks for an RC car and a metal bracket to attach my phone to my bow.

Well all the items I bought were cheaper than I would get them at TAL.

Helping hands: R173 (Temu) R199 (TAL)
Wire strippers R98 (Temu) R199 (TAL - the most similar type)
Flux paste 10cc R17 (Temu) R97 (TAL)

Temu Total = R288 + R58 (duties) = R346
TAL total = R495 (Would have to spend R5 more to get free shipping)

I made a small order of around R450 to check on delivery and quality. I was surprised by an extra charge of R96 for taxes and duties. The items have not yet arrived.

Experience ok, goods as good as any other Chinese market. Meh at best. You pays your money, you takes your chances.

I wonder if it is really cheaper and worth it all the hassle. Might as well check TAL or local sites.
