Hawks show their Talons

But they'll never be as effective.

High profile government execs will not be touched by this unit. Wait and see.:D

I agree with that statement, watch a lot of news coverage about this unit doing what the SAPS should be doing. Not one case will be covered on corruption within parliment.

Oke, i hope they are good.
But my idea of a hawk:

They hunt when their boss tells them, and the rest of the time they sit blindfolded on his arm....:(

I wish they chose a different name.:o

Well look you guys are probably right but at least they are doing something to curb corruption within the police force so i'm at least somewhat satisfied with this.

I agree it's a start. Maybe they will surprise us.

Two Cape Town policemen were arrested by the country's new crime-fighting team - the Hawks - on charges of kidnapping, extortion and corruption, police said on Thursday.

Reminds me of:

Daffy: How's this for a new team name: The Ducks!
Bugs: Please! What kind of Mickey Mouse orginization would name their team The Ducks?

DJ Fresh was laughing at the name "hawks" and made a reference to the disbanding of the scorpions saying what would they call the hawks when their wings get clipped....the parrots? Hahahaha i couldn't stop laughing.

The hawks will never substitute the scorpions ! If we are lucky they will help the organized crime unit a bit. They're just another SAPS unit - certainly have all the publicity on their side. On the saps intranet, notices have been send asking stations all over SA to report all hi-profile cases where a break thru is imminent. Those cases must be handed at once to the new unit. Hmmm . . .

That should serve to endear them to hard-working detectives at individual stations. NOT! Eish....

Ok, except of course the story in the paper today about how this was a PR failure, because the only Hawks member so far is the leader.. Achmat or whatever his name is...

That's pretty interesting...

Organized crime bosses who aren't paying their bribes will be 1st to go.

The sad thing is like any other specialized unit that got disbanded, it's gonna take time to get ball rolling. To expect a victory so early is ludicrous.
