The new HD PVR decoders will be available in all of MultiChoice’s traditional retail outlets such as Game, Makro and Pick n Pay. Users will also be able to buy these new decoders from MultiChoice branches, installers and agents. Stock should hit the shelves during the first week of August.
Do you think it'll be possible to do a swop? I only got the PVR bout 3 months ago, and paid like 5 grand just for it...
This new HD PVR is gonna sell for R2499, so multichoice shouldn't mind a straight swop right?

I'd hold on a while... there'll be a big demand for SD PVRs soon.3 Months ago the cost of a PVR with installation was around R3000-00 from multichoice, and there was cheaper options available. The R5k just does'nt sound right. Now MC are selling them for R1999 (new), i'll give you R 1200.
Yup!Better?![]()
I phoned MC in Cape Town and they say they will have stock on the 1st.
If you want to use your old PVR and the new PVR you are going to need a LNB that has connections for at least 6 cables (4 for your HDPVR and 2 for your SDPVR) (R1300) or you can purchase a multiswitch (R500) that will convert a dual LNB into either a 6 or 8.
www.spacetv.co.za have all the equipment you require and thier prices are quite good.
It doesn't appear on Makro's online catalogue as yet. The SD PVR did however drop in price to R1,999.
These guys are already installing it for customers:

I referred a friend to them the other day, and he only had nice things to say about them.
And no, I am not affiliated to them in any way, but good service has to be rewarded.
