Hi everyone

So my laptop has been extremely slow as of late, so I figured Id start with a fresh copy of windows. I installed windows 10, but the same issue kept on popping up.

See here: http://i.imgur.com/TPaPhZA.jpg

So what are my options?
I tried running chkdsk back on windows 7 a few days ago, but it didn't seem to fix much.
I feel like the pc runs fine with widows 10, but the message hasn't stopped from coming up - is the HDD really about to fail or is windows just being paranoid?

Thanks for any input! :)

Wouldn't risk using it - buy a new drive.

Had the problem on my toshiba c660 laptop keep getting message of disc error after installed resh copy of windows 7 and test windows 8 same error. The laptop was my backup pc so getting new drive was a waste, now been running daily for 2 year no problem. The error stop after all drivers was loaded.

I suggest replacing the drive or keep using it but don't store anything you don't wanna loose on it. Don't risk it!

This is also a toshiba C660, funnily enough.
Wow, that is an interesting fix.

@Ho3n3r I used /f, but am doing a /r as we speak. Will let you know if anything changes.

UNC errors are already here. It remain to establish whether there are single errors on the same location (these can be eliminated by scandisk with system and surface option) or more regular surface degradation or firmware corruption.
Post SMART report and scan entire disk surface for delays using utilities like MHDD (DOS) or Victoria for DOS/Windows.

Im assuming its bad but not that bad given its still running? Im really not sure how severe these results are.

It doesn't look bad, but it is indeed. One error was just repaired, but there is much more delays. I don't know, Windows background processing can generate delays, it would be wise to compare a good drive on the same machine or use DOS. Assuming that these delays are true (SMART parameter #196 confirms this), my opinion is that heads are dirty, it will be more errors in future.
Use this disk for secondary storage - download movies, not a critical stuff.

Thanks for the update!
Think Ill keep using it like you suggest - with a lot of caution! Some neat utilities you suggested btw, thanks again.
