HDMI computer screen for DSTV?

No please can you describe how ill view the channels after attaching the dstv to the windows PC using hdmi

you have it totally wrong - the original question was about connecting a DSTV decoder to a PC monitor that has an HDMI input - the DSTV decoder does not connect to the PC at all - the decoder has an HDMI output and you connect an HDMI cable to that and the monitors in question then have an HDMI input and the other end of the HDMI cable connects to that - you then control the decoder with your remote and as the guys said 12 years back if everything is HDCP capable (and nowadays everything absolutely is) then you will have no problems playing your decoder onto a PC monitor - the PC needs to be connected to another input BUT the decoder is standalone

There might be an hdcp issue though, the monitor would need to support that.
