Healing Heriocs

Then how else would I get those small spiders off of me?

Thorns actually generates aggro when you get hit, this aggro is based off Spellpower/Strength

Barkskin would be used to save your ass, thorns, not somuch

Ah ok, got it, so I barkskin when those small spiders with little HP come around, let the guys finish ****ing up the add and then the tank returns to the boss and the other guys clean up and dps the main boss again?

Why does it always feel like I'm alone in a group then.... I was pretty sure the whole "keep your healer alive" thing was a thing you did in WoW, and my group leader went "well, why didn't you heal yourself"

And I'm like o.0 I did but the hits came in too fast and hard, I figured you guys would pull them off me.... ANYWAY, I just bought an unshaped account so I'm going to try do HC healing tonight :)

As you get geared, you can become more picky about the groups you pug with. the current problem you are having is that you're stuck at the bottom of the chain. Those PUG normally fail pretty back. It does get better as you gear.

Strange but I can relate with me gearing my tank with your healing problem. I was stuck with useless groups. Not that I deserved better but we all had pretty crap gear. Once I started gearing up, the PUG's became better as people of more or les the same gear level start grouping up. And if you are good at healing you will get invited back with the good players and so forth.

Just keep going through it and if you can, buy as much gear as you can afford to help you that little bit extra.

I had to spend close to 2.5kg Just to be able to get into PUGable heroics :D

This is the whole reason I stopped healing and rolled Rogue :)
As mentioned above, it's often the tank slacking that gets the healer pwned. I really miss those memorable phrases 'WTF, heal????','I never got a single heal, WTF??' or those macro whispers when a dps has just less than 95% health, 'w/ heal me, heal me!!!'.

I was one complaining about how hard it is to find someone to heal you when you start gearing as a Tank. I can now see why they complain so much.

I am now on 33k HP defence capped and about 95% Avoidance with Shield Block up. That being said, a healer now over heals me 90% of the time as they anticipate me being hit but I avoid/parry/block most of it.

But I do feel that an under geared Healer should not be expecting handouts also. But if you have a friend who is good geared. He will make life so much more easier :) Well you should not have a problem if the Tank has 541 defence and knows how to keep aggro. Then HP is not so much a big deal.

Just to point out, shield block is mitigation... not avoidance ^^ No tank comes even close to 95% avoidance

People also need to be realistic about the tank's gear. You dont need 30k to tank heroics. You need to know your class. When WOTLK came out, we where doing heroics to gear up for Naxx. Now you get kicked from a pug group for heroic, if you dont have Uldar gear.

Besides, any fool can buy a ready made tank with stacks of HP and heroic achievements.

You can fully gear a tank in one week of heroic runs with +- 33k HP if you have a guild willing to push you through. Thereafter you will be Ulduar 10 ready.

hehe :o I know.

It's called avoidence cap (102.4%) Parry/Dogde/Block but yes, the majority of mine is block :p

The avoidance cap was to remove crushing blows, now its just fancy schmancy talk ;)

I'm thinking I should respec from Feral to Boomkin. Just to change things up a bit. I've been playing Feral for years now. Either that, or tank. I think I am quite effective as a tank. With my low-ass gear I'm about 23k armor buffed.

Anyway, healing is going good, getting a solid 280-310ms ping with the unshaped account. Just not enough people on in my guild to run OK HC. I *neeeeeeeed* to kick ass in there!

There is druid in my guild, he has about 52/53k health in bear form:P its insane, his armor is something stupid also.

I am finally hitting 47K 10man raid buffed on my pally now, when i pop my trinket, it go's to 51k :D thou thats only for a few seconds:/

Can you give me a link to the druid in the armory please? I want to go check out his tank gear. See what I can do to upgrade to get to that point. (Not many helpful guides on the internet on how to plot a point to point path to know what to do and what to expect to get decent gear upgrades really)

I'm also leveling my Pally, but really want to get my druid going into Raids. Need all my chars to be level 80 before the new expansion hits though

Still does wonders for healing.

I take allot less damage on my Pala than our DK tank in our guild.

Since, I started healing, I have decided that pally's are the best tanks. Generally they seem less susceptable to massive spike damage than other tank classes. Maybe its just the tanks in my guild....

I subsequently respeced my warrior to arms and de'd all his prot epics :D

Hey Acid,

I did not read the whole thread, just the 1st page. I think you are doing things fine for hc's. Its simple, get a proper tank imo :)

If you want to chat about druid healing you can msg me anytime. I'm on an extended wow break now, but before I left a few weeks ago I was a healing class leader and ranked 3rd of Resto's on Sylvanas. I do know my druid healing and its always nice to talk to fellow druids.

I absolutely luv Resto and think they are awesome. Ie doing 8.5k hps on fights like IC 25 hard mode is allot of fun.

And ye imo Pallies are the OP tanks atm, you clearly see that when you've been doing all the ulduar hard modes. You clearly feel it when doing Algalon.

Have to admit Pally tanks are OP tank sadly(aka the best at the moment), and everyone is one now. They do take less dmg than most but they are also the easiest to play, they alos have so many oh sh@t buttons its not even funny, that being my reason to drop my pally tank and re-rolled a Druid tank.

We do take huge dmg in the beginning of a fight but after a few second savage defense kicks in. We do have some problems with group aggro but can get around that sometimes and some experience.

If you are pulling aggro of a Pally/warrior tank, then there is something wrong with the tank, but if its a new Druid tank then I think its due to his lack in experience, takes awhile to get use to Druid tanking, you don't just run in and consecrate and drink coffoe while the rest DPS ^_^.
